This page lists all buses purchased and operated by the Maryland Mass Transit Administration (MTA) after 1982. This era covers the later Flxible Metro and NABI purchases. The 83xx-series buses marked a change in the numbering sequence for the MTA. The current sequence is more or less year based, as opposed to the former sequencing system, which went to the next hundred series regardless of year. Exceptions to this format involved the re-built GM and Flxible fishbowls and the Neoplan order, which were given numbers under the old system for whatever reason. Also, the 7xxx-series Flxibles were numbered as such due to the "suburban" configruation, and the 101C-118C suburban coaches were numbered as such since they were assigned to MTA contract carriers for use on commuter services.
