PLACES TO EAT , DRINK and HAVE FUN!


Ocean City and the surrounding areas have wonderful eating and drinking establishments.  Below are just a few.  As we discover them, we will add them to the list.
 


 

Ocean City
For the best omelettes in New Jersey, try Augie's Omelette House is located at 715 8th Street in Ocean City.  Their contact number is (609) 391-9555.  You might like one of their open faced frittatas.  During the season, they have 2 locations, one is across the street in the Forum Hotel. The restaurant at 715 8th Street is open all year round!

The Culinary Garden is also one of our favorite restaurants for breakfast.  Check them out at www.culinarygardenrestaurant.com.  They are located at 841 Central Avenue in Ocean City.  Their contact number is 609-399-3713.

Gillian’s on the Boardwalk in Ocean City has everything your kids could want.  Check them out at www.gillians.com.  The site offers information with an interactive map of all their boardwalk attractions.

Somers Point
The most varied lunch/dinner menu in the area belongs to The Anchorage Tavern.  Check out the history of the place at www.anchoragetavern.com. This excellent restaurant/bar is located at 823 Bay Ave. in Somers Point.  Their contact number is 609-926-1974.  The atmosphere is festive yet casual.  There are happy hour and drink specials on a daily basis.

Bubba Mac Shack offers “barbecue, seafood and blues”.  They are located at 520 Bay Ave. in Somers Point.  Their contact number is 609-926-7755.  Their website address is www.bubbamac.com.  They offer karaoke on Friday nights from 5-8pm.  The Bubba Mac Blues Band and DJ dancing all night follows karaoke.

Sea Isle City
If you don’t mind a bit of a longer drive, check out the nightlife in Sea Isle City.
OCEAN DRIVE HOTEL & BAR is one of our favorites.  They are located at 40th & Landis Avenue. This is a very popular spot with top 40 dance music 7 nights a week. There is usually a young, good-looking crowd but all ages are spotted here.

DEAD DOG SALOON is located at 3809 Landis Avenue in Sea Isle City. Small comfortable lounge with two levels. There is usually an acoustic guitarist or vocalist. Pleasant, quiet atmosphere. Great place for a date or to chat. Hard to believe, but you can actually carry on a conversation while the music is on. Mixed, friendly crowd, mostly late 20s to 40s. No cover charge.

SHENANIGAN’S is located at 39th & Landis Avenue in Sea Isle City. Typically a 30ish crowd although this can vary with the different entertainment offered. Usually a top 40 type of dance band on the weekend with a Reggae Band one night during the week. No parking. Cover charge.
 

Atlantic City
The Casbah Nightclub is located in the Taj Mahal.  This is an upscale, trendy dance club that attracts the beautiful people, especially on the weekends.  Dress to impress.  Call 1-800-736-1420.

The Tun Tavern is located at 2 Miss America Way.  Call 609-347-7800.  This is a classic brew pub in every sense of the word.  Enjoy watching the resident brew master create a myriad of beer varieties.  "Pub Grub" and nightly specials make The Tun worth a try.

The Hard Rock Cafe is located at 1000 Boardwalk at Viginia Ave.  Call 609-441-0007.  They offer a free concert series which makes this a better stop than some other Hard Rocks throughout the U.S.A.
