About Us

The SUNY Binghamton Prisoner Support Network was established in 1999 with the goal of offering support to people incarcerated in the u.s. Its creation comes at a time when there are over 2 million people in prison (more than any other industrialized nation in the world), the majority of them people of color, and an increasing number of them women. Recognizing the inhumanity of prisons, the severe inequality of the court and legal systems, and the role that the prison industrial complex plays in both the expansion of capitalism and the preservation of racism, we understand that our position as conscious individuals on the "outside" necessitates the support of our brothers and sisters on the "inside." All support is considered on a case by case basis.

The SUNY-B PSN works in conjunction with OFF! magazine, and both are run by students at the State University of New York at Binghamton.
