Painter Daas 'ey kid, what's yer name? Nello Daas. 'ave you been blessed wit a newsie nickname yet? Yes, Painter. Where'd dat come from, anyway? Because I paint. I'm an artist in the making. Rebel called me that in the House of Refuge. When's yer birthday? July 16, 1890. I'm 12. Whatcha look like? I'm short, and I have honey-blond hair and blue eyes. People say i look "angelic". I wear brown knickers, a tan shirt, a dark blue vest, white stockings, black boots, and a brown newsboy cap. And what about yer poysonality? I'm quiet. I like to paint. I'm... foriegn? So... let's 'ear a liddle 'bout yer past. Where'd youse come from? I was born in Belgium, and grew up there. My mother died when i was quite young, and my father left for America soon after her death, so my grandfather raised me. When he passed away, I was sent to America to stay with an Uncle, in 1899. I was put in the House of Refuge for stealing in 1900, where I met Rebel. Got friends? A few. Rebel and Dorian, mainly. I'm a very shy type. What about a "significant otha", hmm? *wink wink, nudge nudge* I'm a little young, yet... And what about yer status as a newsie? I haven't been doing it for long. I'd like to think I was fairly good.
