A quick comment:       Back to G-1: Review A-IV     Teletran-1

This is my first Skids .  I bought it on Oct. Xxvi, Mmii and it cost me about $(XXXV) XXXVII from ToyTokyo.  Thank God they re-issued him again because back in the old day there was no way I could afford him.  So now, he's part of my toy collection.

R-0 Original Skids' motto and tech specifications:

Affiliate: autobots | Subgroup: none | Function: theoretician | Alt. Mode: honda city turbo|

| STR 4 | INTL 9 | SPD 5 | ENDN 6 | RNK 8 | CRG 7 | FRPW 7 | SKL 7 |

Original G1 Skids Motto:

"Deep down, we are more like than unlike humans."

Original G1 Skids Bio:

A daydreamer...often bumps into things at 60 mph while pondering Earth life instead of a Decepticons attack.  Considers Earth one vast lab for his research.  His findings are often invaluable to fellow Autobots.  Enormous memory storage capacity.  Carries a liquid nitrogen rifle with 600-foot range.  Twin electron blaster of 20,000 volts can short circuit almost anything.  At 560 mph, can stop within 25 feet.  Not very fast...often in danger due to daydreaming.

These  images were all photographed and scanned by me.  If you're a Transformers fan, this will definitely bring back some reminiscences.

R-1 Skids in its Original condition:

skidsorig.jpg (50672 bytes)1  - Here's Skids in it's original box.

2 - Here's how the content looks when you opened the flap or cover revealing the figure through an opening window..

3 - These are all the contents that were included in the box/ package/ card: "1" mini van, "3" missiles, "1" missile launcher, "2" guns,  "1" instruction sheet, "1" sticker sheet, "1" miscellaneous text sheet, "1" Skids trading card, "1" world art (Devatator VS. Dinobots), "2" data files (image of Skids and Sludge), "1" TF episode guide #19 to #27, "2" Dreamwave art with toy catalog (feature: all of Dinobots, Blaster, Perceptor, Trailbreaker, Smokescreen, Tracks, Hoist, and Grapple).

R-2 Pre-Applied Decals/ Stickers:

There are 7 Pre-Applied sticker that had been applied onto Skids.  The first two are located on either side of his car door.  It's a big red and black sticker.  The third and forth stickers are located on the side and rear just below the window, again it's a red and black sticker..  The fifth and sixth sticker are located on the back, van back light.  The last pre-applied sticker is the Autobot Rub Sign logo located on top of his van roof top.

Sticker Sheet:

There are 21 registered numbering of stickers on the sticker sheet.  But in reality it's actually 24 stickers since some of the repeat stickers are labeled as one instead of two.  These registering numbering do not include the Pre-applied stickers.

R-3 Skids in Vehicle mode:

skidsveh.jpg (53351 bytes)Skids in vehicle mode is a Honda City Turbo mini van.  Unfortunately, he only appeared in two episode in the G1 show, "Quest For Survival, Eps. #45" and "Triple Taker Over, Eps. #50."  For some strange reasons Skids looks a lot bigger in picture than his actual toy size.  Also, for his small size Skids is kind of heavy I guess it's due to his die cast metal parts.  Moreover, he has many operable doors, see R-6 for more.

R-4 Skids in Robot Mode::

skidsrob.jpg (62829 bytes)Despite his small size in vehicle mode, Skids in robot mode is pretty tall.  In fact, he is even taller than Jazz or Prowl.  I thought Skids looks okay he is neither bad or good.  I must say his transformation is pretty darn good.  I also like how his feet wheel is folded inward and hidden underneath.  This sequence actually make Ultra Magnus figure looks bad especially with his large size.  Overall, I only have one minor complaint about Skids and that is, his single clamp gun tends to fall of easily so watch out for that weapon.

R-5 Detail Image and Alternated Transformation:

skidsdet.jpg (50218 bytes)In addition to the R-4 transformation, the Instruction Sheet does provides Skids with a second minor configuration which allows his shoulder to be visible out.  The advantage is that now Skids can rotated his shoulder in a full 360 degree while in R-4 he can only move up or down.  In continuation from R-1, Skids offers many opening doors from the side doors, to the two rear door, and even the van front hood is operate able.
