Ultra Magnus is all soldier.  Most comfortable as the second-in-command, when he is carry out the orders of Optimus Prime. Possesses supreme fighting skills and a gift for  battlefield improvisation. Reluctant whenever he has to be the leader in a mission, but has a nutuarl ability to command. Unswervingly determined, fair, and courageous. Exhibits hesitancy and self-doubt at times about his decision.  Carries missile launchers capable of hitting a target 30 miles away.  Ready to sacrifice himself for the good of others or the mission.

Bio:

Ultra Magnus changes into a transport truck and can carry Autobot warriors over long distances at incredible speed.  He is a professional soldier loaded with the fierce and fiery weapon, Blue Bolts.  He can also fly with his turbo-charged, high-powered jet engine.  He and Optimus Prime can joint together to create a super-powerful force of strength and wisdom.

Bio:  

Profile: A natural soldier, Ultra Magnus feels he is better as a follower than a leader. When entrusted with missions by his great commander, he displays his magnificent fighting skills, courage, and gift for battlefied improvisation. Though he finds the role of leadership oppressive, when it is clear he has no choice, once he has prepared himself, he makes a magnificent commander to guide his companions, resolute and courageous beyond reproach. He is ever-ready to sacrifice himself for those he must protect, and indeed, once when he was savagely assaulted by the Decepticons, that resolution finally became a reality. After his heroic death in battle, as he had briefly been the bearer of the Matrix, his soul was accepted among those guardians of wisdom beyond that of the present world, but he never felt that he truly belonged in that peaceful realm. Shortly afterward, with the cosmic awareness that came with being part of the Matrix, he learned that Galvatron II was putting the galaxy in crisis by commanding a fearsome mobile battle fortress. Magnus made contact with Commander Optimus Prime's consciousness, and using the power of Prime's "Reconfiguration Matrix," achieved his own resurrection. Once revived, Ultra Magnus immediately assembled a strike force and made firm preparations to bring down Galvatron II. Now there is no room for doubt on the path he must take.

Abilities: Thanks to the structural conversion abilities of the Reconfiguration Matrix, Ultra Magnus is now able to transform into various modes, including his original body, but this "laser rig" mode, created based on the structural formula for Laser Optimus Prime, is particularly outstanding for its comprehensive offensive capabilities. His body consists of two independent modules. The truck cab becomes a robot which is imbued with sentience--this is the part normally recognized as Ultra Magnus. In this mode, his normal form by itself now exhibits power rivaling his original large robot mode, and his quicker mobility gives him full command over a wide variety of hand-to-hand combat techniques. He also has four launchers, which carry a total of 16 rounds, built into his shoulders, from which he can fire short-range missiles with an effective range of 100 km. The tanker trailer section transforms into his battle station module, making a variety of weaponry available to him, including a ripple-fire missile blaster, armor-piercing discs, and a laser-targeting rocket launcher. He primarily remote-controls this equipment via a mind link, but it can also use defense programming to attack automatically, or his fellow Autobots can deploy themselves about it and operate it manually. In vehicle mode, he is armed with a rotatable armor-piercing disc launcher, and he can project powerful energy rams from his headlights that can pulverize their way through obstacles on the road or protective barriers on enemy strongholds. He can also feed energy from his laser core, the nucleus of his life force, into the light saber weapon and laser cannon that are his personal weapons, phenomenally increasing their destructive power.

Weaknesses: Ultra Magnus must take even greater care than normal in order to master the multiple functions of his new combat configuration. Sometimes he makes errors in function selection, causing instances of disruption in weapon control. Aside from this point, he has no known weaknesses.

Bio:

No commander could ask for a finer soldier than ULTRA MAGNUS. He is a total soldier – highly intelligent and deadly dangerous, but with a fervent desire for peace and a willingness to sacrifice himself for the sake of a cause or his fellow AUTOBOTS.  The death of SENTINEL PRIME sent him into a tailspin. Certainly the AUTOBOTS hadn't been winning the war, but the pace of their losses had slowed. The hope of a rally was just over the horizon when MEGATRON pulled the AUTOBOT leader's spark core from his ruined body. To hear that Optronix had been passed the mantle of leadership – made OPTIMUS PRIME - was simply another, greater shock. The archivist?  ULTRA MAGNUS is on the other side of CYBERTRON, literally a world away from his new leader. As the DECEPTICONS continue slaughtering their way around the globe, he and his men wait for word from OPTIMUS PRIME, hoping only that the new leader proves equal to the challenge of the diabolical will to conquest of MEGATRON.  Unique Feature: Wears a powered battle exosketeton.

He sees himself as a follower, not a commander, and is reluctant to assume authority until it is clear that he has no choice but to lead. And when he does finally lead, he is resolute, fair and courageous beyond reproach. He is ever-ready to sacrifice himself for the good of his companions and mission, and unstinting in his preparedness so that his "people" will be as protected as possible.

Infinitely reliable, fair, and completely trustworthy, Ultra Magnus is an Autobot in whom I'd not only entrust my own life, but the lives of my soldiers as well.  The problem is that while I offer this trust without hesitation, it's Magnus himself who continues to doubt his own abilities.  He'd prefer to follow orders and work on a strickly tactical level--which he always does brilliantly, improving things on the battlefield that the most skilled military planners could only dream of imitating.  Magnus is instinctively a better leader than most who've groomed themselves for the role over a lifetime, and everyone who's ever served alongside him knows that...the only problem is convincing to believe it, too.

Weapons/ Abilities:    

Magnus has incredible strength, endurance, and intelligence.  He is an accomplished soldier, hand-to-hand combatant, and tactician, not to mention a field commander without equal.  His outer armor is equipped with two missile launchers, each capable of hitting a target at a distance of 30 miles; they are useable in both modes.  In both robot modes, he wields a powerful laser rifle.  In vehicle mode, Magnus' trailer is capable of carrying several mid-size vehicular Autobots.

Weaknesses:    

When he doesn't allow his self-doubt to cripple him, Magnus has no known weaknesses.  He just needs to learn that those doubts are an indulgence he must sacrifice in order to truly lead.
