NOTE: You are viewing a Multi-Part Review - Part 1 (of 2), see R-6 for others. A quick comment: Back to G-1: Review A-IX Teletran-1 This is my second Blaster action figure. As a kid, I have always wanted Blaster but never really had the finance. After two decades later, my first Blaster figure was purchased from ebay and the tape door eject button didn't even work. I tried to fix myself, got frustrated and decided to rip him apart. From that day on, I never purchased a loose figure again. Finally, a couple of year later I was thrilled when Takara announced the reissue of Blaster. On Apr. Vii, Mmvi I got Blaster for $L at Image Anime.

Acts as Autobot communications center...can transmit up to 4,000 miles. Carries elecro-scrambler gun that disrupts electrical devices. |
These images were all photographed and scanned by me. If you're a Transformers fan, this will definitely bring back some reminiscences. The last pre-applied sticker is the Autobot Rub Sign logo located at the crotch. Sticker Sheet: Blaster did not come with any sticker sheet. Every decal on him was all pre-applied. |
R-3 Blaster in Alt. Mode: Blaster in alternated mode is a boom box type AM/ FM tape cassette player whose measurement is approximately 7 3/16 x 4 1/4 x 1 3/4 (LxWxD in inch). The main buttons below the tape deck is actually 3 independence buttons but design to look like as though it's 4. The middle button is a large button with a seam or line to make it looks like two buttons. Out of these buttons, the only real functional button for Blaster is the Eject button which open the deck tape door. The other two (or three with seam) buttons just have movement but not functional. Other non-movable buttons include the On/Off tab and Tuning. Unfortunately for transfans, many of Blaster working gimmicks from the original Microman Line such as the ability to play music or some other movable buttons were disable when the figure was converted into the Transformers Line. |
R-4 Blaster in Robot Mode: In robot mode, Blaster has one of nicest molds of the G1 line. He is large (as tall as Ultra Magnus), well balance, very proportional, and feature a decent articulation. Surprisingly, Blaster is actually light for his large size. Everything on Blaster is all plastic, therefore, he does not contain any diecast metal like some of his fellow bots. The colors (red, yellow, and gray) on him are very appropriated to his character as well to his form. |
R-5 Additional Blaster Images: As mention in R-3 regarding the eject button, here's Blaster with the tape door opened out (bottom right image). Left and middle image are close up pictures as to how would Blaster looks like once the cassette is inserted inside him. The top middle is Blaster gun. |
