And now, a word from Tom...

Hello there, and Happy Thanksgiving. I just wanted to talk to you a bit before you go out and plan your Thanksgiving menu this year.

Spiritsong hired me for this great gig in her Thanksgiving Pages, so I'm relatively safe (you won't tell anyone I'm here, will you?), but a lot of my friends haven't been so lucky. You see, they are going to be at your table, and not as an invited guest, if you know what I mean.

Most people have no idea what horrible lives my relatives lead at farms, especially at this time of year. I can barely speak about it, but you can read a little about it HERE. Please take a moment to go and see what I'm talking about. We'll just hang out here until you're done.... but let me warn you, the descriptions, though accurate, are quite graphic and may not be suitable for younger members of the family.

Ah, you're back. Pretty awful stuff, I know, but it's even worse for us and most people never realize it's going on, let alone have any idea what has been fed and injected into the traditional fare they feed their family.

The nice folks at PETA have started a campaign asking everyone to give up the traditional turkey dinner for Thanksgiving, and I'm here to ask you to please consider it. After what you've seen, I think you'll agree it would make for a healthier Thanksgiving for you and your loved ones ---not to mention mine!

There are oodles of places to find really yummie vegetarian options. I have a few of them here, courtesy of the Farm Sanctuary and Peta:

Oh, and speaking of the Farm Sanctuary, how about doing something really special this year and adopting a turkey! You can read all about it at their site here:

Adopt A Turkey

Well, thanks for coming by and for considering making this Thanksgiving an 'unturkey day'. However you choose to celebrate, my friends and I wish you and your family an abundance of blessings this holiday season and always.

Uh, you wanna come out now, Timothy, and show our guests where they can go from here? (Oh, don't mind him...he gets a little spooked this time of year....)
