Buzz-A-Thon
February 5, 2006
Our kinndergarten class, under the guidance of Catechist, Eddie Sundquist and Catechist Aide, Elisa Sundquist and Dan Johnson,
held their annual Buzz-A-Thon to raise money for the Heifer Project.
The kindergarten class collected pledges and then buzzed around the church hall for 5 minutes.
They raised enough money to provide for several bee hives for families in developing countries.
December Family Gathering
December 18, 2005
Our Christmas Family Gathering included a performance by our kindergarden class
of the song, "This is the Way the Angels Sing", led by their Catechist Eddie Sundquist.
The families made star ornaments to bring home
and decorated cookies with stars
because Jesus has been called the Day Star, the Light that will last forever!
The fourth grade, led by Catechist, Jim Alexander, performed a Christmas play
which included traditional carols.
Music was provided by guitarist, Tom Zdrojewski and songleader, Mary Zdrojewski.
Prepare to Launch!
November 20, 2005
Our vicariate sponsored parent/teen workshop for Confirmation cnadidates
was led by Mike Theisen, of the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry.
The youth learned about Pentecost and Confirmation
through ice breakers, skits, talks, and creative projects.
Parents joined the candidates for sharing games and activities that enabled both youth and parents
to express their hopes and concerms for each other and their futures.
Middle School Scripture Workshop
October 3, 2005
Our vicariate sponsored middle school scripture workshop
was led by Vikki Shepp, of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
After several fun icebreakers the youth listended to a folktale
that echoed a passage from the Gospell of Luke.
Through the reading of the scripture, a video clip, group discussion,
and a creative activity they examined
who they invite into their circle of friends and who they exclude.
The youth were encouraged to view Scripture in light of their own life experiences!"
