  • Anniversary Armageddon
    Date: 01/26/2002
    Bell Time: 7:30

The show started with The Girls from Hooters accompanying Spazman Simmons to the ring. Simmons started ripping on the fans then put the Hooters Girls over to nice pop then told them to leave his ring. Then Scotty Bender, "The Voice of NMW, " came out to thank Hooters and the fans for supporting NMW and helping them become a part of BIG TV on Time Warner Cable. Then Bender talked about Terry Lemmer, Big Cat Lemmer's father, who passed away a few months ago and dedicated the show in his honor. Then all the wrestlers and referees came out for a ten-bell salute to the memory of Terry Lemmer. Everyone left the ringside area, except for Big Cat who stayed in the ring to a standing ovation from the fans until a masked man came out from the crowd and hit Lemmer in the knee with a ball bat. The attack continued until Jason Atlas and "Gigolo" Johnny Walker came out to make the save. They helped Lemmer to the back as Lemmer was seriously injured.

Match 1: Demetrius (w/"Handsome" Randall Burton) defeated Orpheus, Crusher, I.B. Green, and D.A. Thunder in a "Hardcore Hell" elimination match by pinning Orpheus at 6:50. Orpheus (formerly Chris "The Razor" Blade) came out as Demetrius's new tag team partner and are now known as The Soultakers. They were the last two left with Orpheus "laying down" for Demetrius and giving him the victory. Demetrius is now the #1 contender for Ian Decay's Rochester Streetfight Title.

Match 2: "Devastating" Kevin Dunn (w/Miss Michelle) defeated Marcos Martini (w/Marty "The Party" Vain) and Shockwave (w/Kenny Casanova and J.C. Money) at 8:56 to become the new NMW Cruiserweight Champion. Before the match, Vain called out Mean Marcos as "Hung like a zucchini, Marcos Martini," as the newest member of The Frat Pack. Then Money came out and said that while he was training for the match, he slipped on a Hooters chicken wing and fell on his head and couldn't defend his title. He called out Shockwave as his replacement. Good match that saw Shockwave rollup Martini with a bridge and Dunn went underneath for the double pin. Since Dunn was the man on top of Marcos, referee Adam Bloodstone awarded Dunn the match and the title. Money argued the decision and demanded his title back, slapping Dunn in the face. Dunn responded with a kick and then delivered his finisher, The Burning Hammer.

Match 3. Jason Atlas defeated Hellcat at 11:03 to become the new NMW Heavyweight Champion. Similar match to their first encounter at September 2 Remember. Atlas delivered his Atlas Slam and had Hellcat pinned, but Chip Stetson pulled out referee Luis "White Shoes" Johnson before the 3-count and attacked him. Stetson then grabbed the title and went for Atlas, but Atlas moved and Stetson nailed Hellcat instead. An Atlas clothesline sent Stetson to the outside and Johnson came back in to count the pin. After the match, Stetson berated Hellcat, saying he was sick and tired of him dropping the ball and that a decision had to be made. He called out the other New York Crew members, The Outcast Killers (Oman Tortuga and Diablo Santiago) and told them they had to choose between him or Hellcat. The Killers stood next to Hellcat, seemingly making their decision. Then out of nowhere, The Killers attacked Hellcat and Stetson joined in as well until Atlas came back out to make the save. Atlas tried to help Hellcat up, but Hellcat refused and left the ring on his own.

Match 4: Hate Machine (HC Loc and Sledge) defeated Eric Everlast and "White Lion" Jim Tanner (w/Kenny Casanova) when Loc pinned Tanner after delivering their finisher, "The Downward Spiral," at 10:53. Good showing by Hate Machine in their NMW debut.

Match 5: Big Cat Lemmer defeated Chip Stetson with his finisher, The Cat Nap, at 9:53 to become the new NMW TV Champion. Before the match, Stetson said because of being attacked earlier in the night, Lemmer was going to be a no-show and told referee Adam Bloodstone to count him out. But Lemmer came out to much to the surprise of the champion. Hard-fought match that at one point saw Stetson cross-bodyblocked Lemmer to the outside through a table. Both men were very slow in getting up, and as it looked the others referees were helping Lemmer to the back, Lemmer got his second wind and speared Stetson on the outside. After the match, Lemmer got a huge BCL chant and a standing ovation from the fans.

Match 6: Sabre defeated "Mr. Spotlight" Jeff Starr (w/Kenny Casanova) at 5:38. Sabre dominated most of this match. Starr eventually fought back and hit some big moves, but Sabre came back and after hitting Casanova who was on the ring apron, finished Starr off with his Sabretooth Tiger Bomb finisher for the victory.

Match 7: "Gigolo" Johnny Walker and Hellcat defeated The Outcast Killers when Walker pinned Santiago at 9:16 to become the new NMW Tag Team Champions. Match started off as a handicap match with Walker by himself, but midway through the match Hellcat came back out and stood in Walker's corner much to the surprise of the champions. The end came when Hellcat giving Tortuga The Hellraiser, Santiago giving Hellcat the sidewalk slam, and Walker hitting Santiago with The Tongue-Twister for the pin. After the match, Walker and Hellcat threw down the belts and stared each other down. It looked like the two would come to blows, but they shook hands and held the belts up celebrating their victory to a good pop from the fans. It now looks like Hellcat has left the ranks of the New York Crew and is now a member of the Gentlemen's Club.
