BASEBALL MEMORABILIA collecting can be very expensive these days. So unless you have a lot of extra money you may want to think about picking your battles. What I mean is pick the specific area that you like the most and primarily collect that. That's exactly what I've done. I'm a Milwaukee Brewer memorabilia collector! Since the Brewers are my favorite team I focus on items of theirs. I don't just collect Brewer items, but most of my things in my collection are Milwaukee Brewer items. In my Brewer collection I have over 8000 baseball cards. Plus I have another 250 or so autographed. Here is a list of the Top Ten Brewer items (not autographed) in my collection.

1. Two Chairs for Milwaukee County Stadium: When my wife Cathy and I went to Milwaukee County Stadium for my birthday in 1999, I ordered two seats. I picked the green seats from the lower grandstand. That was the place I sat at most of the games I went to. It took till early this year for the chairs to arrive. The seats are numbered 17 and 18. Cathy and I have them placed in our living room. We sit in them only on special occasions.

2. Mini Replica of Milwaukee County stadium: For Christmas of 1999, my wife Cathy bought me a mini replica of Milwaukee County Stadium. It sits on top of the mantle in our living room. County Stadium was one of my favorite places on earth and I miss it very much. But at least I can look at my County Stadium, see the place that I used to sit, and think about all the GREAT memories I had there.

3. 1975 "Thanks a Million" Pin: During the 1975 season when the Brewers topped the million-attendance mark, the team gave out pins that said, "Thanks a million". What the team did was put a picture of the oldest and youngest Brewer players on the pin. The great thing is that those two players are Hank Aaron and Robin Yount!

4. 1987 Brewers 13-0 George Webb Poster: In 1987 the Brewers started the season 13-0. For years before the George Webb restaurant chain said they would give out FREE hamburgers if the Brewers won 12 in a row. The Brewers won their 12th straight game on Easter Sunday 1987 when Rob Deer hit a homer to left to tie up the game in the 9th inning. Later in the inning, Dale Sveum hit a two run homer to win it. The poster commemorates the start of the 1987 season.

5. 1975 Brewers Photo Ruler: In1975 the Brewers gave away a ruler at a home game. It is a photo ruler and the whole team is pictured. Some of my All Time favorite Brewers are pictured. Players like Hank Aaron, Johnny Briggs, Jim Colborn, Don Money, George Scott and Robin Yount.

6. Chris Bosio, Jamie Navarro & Chris Jones Game Worn Jerseys: I bought the Bosio jersey from Jim Yackel of Syracuse, New York. The Navarro and Jones jersey's I bought from the Brewer clubhouse store in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

7. Brewer Baseball Cards: I have thousands of Milwaukee Brewer baseball cards. Some of my favorite unsigned ones are my game used cards. I have game used cards (whether it be bats or jerseys) of Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Dave Parker, Ben Sheets, Richie Sexson and others.

8. 1975 All-Star Game Ticket Stub & 1982 World Series Unused Ticket: The 1975 ticket stub was of the All-Star game played at Milwaukee County Stadium. The 1982 World Series ticket is from a game also at Milwaukee County Stadium.

9. Robin Yount 2001 Starting Line Up: Two years ago I bought two of these at Shopco. They are the first Starting Line Up figures of Robin Yount (or any Brewer), that I have.

10. Ticker Stubs and Collectors Cups: Every time Cathy and I go to a Brewer game we keep our ticket stubs and collect plastic souvenir cups. I use the cups almost every day and the ticket stubs are in baseball cardholders hanging on my wall.

There are a lot of different items from your favorite team or players that won't cost you an arm or a leg. When it comes to collecting, you have to love what you have for what it is, not for the monetary value. Till next time, this is Joe Gillespie of nBo Baseball saying Thank You for your time!
