Untitled AJ Story

Melinda was going to the club with the intent of having a good time that night. She needed to just get things off of her mind. She had been so stressed out lately. She was spending way too much time worrying about her schooling. She was distancing herself from even her closest friends. She had everyone worried about her. No one could remember the last time she did anything for herself and herself alone. A group of her friends talked her into heading to this new club that just opened up. They had heard it was the “hot spot” these days. Practically everyone under the age of thirty was there. It was even rumored that there were a few celebrities that visited a few times. After much coaxing, she decided to go.

After making the choice to go, she decided that if she were going, the least she could do was make the best of it. She went to her room to pick out her outfit for the evening. She wasn’t out to pick up any guys, so she didn’t need to be too flashy. But then again, she didn’t want to be too casual either. She rustled through her closet until she came up with the perfect outfit. She had settled on a pair of dark black jeans. And a short sleeved shirt of a deep purple. She used small butterfly barrettes to hold her hair out of her face, as the back flowed loosely down her back. She sat at her vanity table and applied a little make-up to her face. She didn’t want to appear fake. When she was finished, she started on her way down to her waiting friends.

“Hot damn girl!” her friends exclaimed when they seen her. She smiled. “I look okay?” she asked them. “Girl! You better than okay!” her best friend told her. She blushed. “OK! Let’s get this show on the road than.” Melinda told them as they walked out the door. Climbing into Melinda’s car, they decided to just head to the club and not go anywhere else first. The drive across town was filled with the blaring stereo in the car. The girls all sang along to the songs on the radio. Melinda felt herself begin to relax. “Maybe I really do need to just go out for a night!” she thought to herself.

Pulling into the parking space, they all jumped anxiously out of the car. Grabbing hands, they ran to the line waiting at the entrance. They stood in line for about twenty minutes before it was time for them to get in. The girls walked in and looked around taking in the sights around them. They couldn’t believe this place. It was like a dream come true. The girls walked to the bar to get themselves drinks. Each taking a seat next to each other. They finally started talking about things they wished would happen that night. “I heard that there are some stars that show up here to! How awesome would that be?” The girls got all excited as they talked. They sat for bit before they decided they wanted to start dancing. Melinda wasn’t sure about it, so she sat for a little longer.

Suddenly she felt someone tap her on the shoulder. At first she thought she had imagined it, so she ignored it. But the person tapped her again a bit harder this time. She turned and seen a very large man standing behind her. “Yes?” she said. “Ma’am, I have a friend over there that would really like to dance with you! Are you interested?” Melinda wasn’t sure she liked the sound of this. “Why would he have a friend come over and ask me to dance for him?” she thought to herself. “I’m sorry. I am not really into dancing right now. But thank you anyway!” she replied to the man. His next reaction scared her to death.

He reached out and grabbed her by her upper arm. “My friend wants to dance with you. So he shall,” the man hissed at her. He yanked her out of her seat and started pulling her into the direction in which he had been pointing. Melinda was to scared to even scream. She began to struggle and felt her arm starting to bruise. “This was supposed to be a night to have fun. Not this!” she kept telling herself. As the man had her almost where he wanted her, Melinda seen someone come up behind him. The much smaller man had started him from behind so that he released his grip on her arm.

The smaller man yelled at her to get lost, and to hurry. Melinda needed no second time being told. She turned and ran as fast as she could through the crowded club. She decided she didn’t need this. She was just going to go home. She wasn’t sure how to get home though. She couldn’t take her car and leave her friends stranded. She was standing in the parking lot contemplating what to do when she heard someone calling to her. “Hey! Lady!” She wasn’t in the mood for another encounter like the she had just had, so she was about to take off. Suddenly there was a hand on her arm. But it was there softly.

She turned to look into the eyes of the man who had helped her back in the club. She stood staring at him not believing whom she was staring at. “No! This cannot be! There is absolutely no way!” she told herself. “Are you okay?” he asked her. “I.. Uhh.. Yeah.. Thank you!” she replied to him. She was in complete shock. Sure, she had heard her friends talking about it. But she never thought it was true. Unable to handle it anymore, she said to him, “I’m sorry, but are you..” Before she could finish her question, he answered, “Yeah. That’s me!” She let her jaw drop to the ground, near her feet. “I cannot believe this! I so cannot even begin to believe this!” she started saying to herself.

He laughed at her actions. “I must admit, that is one of the strangest reactions I have had when someone finds out who I am!” She laughed when she realized how ridiculous she must sound. “And now I am being a blabbering idiot. I’m sorry.” He laughed at her once again. He felt comfortable with her. Usually when he encountered a fan, she flipped out on him. Not this one. “Hey! It’s okay. I find it kinda cute actually!” he told her, making her blush. “And I think that is even more adorable!” he said upon seeing her reddened face. This made her blush a deeper shade of red.

He pulled her towards the center of the lot, away from the loudness of the club. “I know this is going to be a little strange for you, but what do you say we go get a cup of coffee or something? Ya know, get away from here?” She looked at him like he was insane. “Why would he want to go anywhere with me of all people?” she asked herself. “Are you sure?” she asked him. He kissed her hand and answered, “Positively!” She nodded her head in agreement. “But I am here with some friends. I need to talk to them first. Ohh, and I need to make arrangements on a way home. I am just going to give them the keys to my car.” He looked at her strangely. “I am taking you out. I will bring you home. If that’s okay with you?” She smiled. “That would be great. Now you want to come with me to find the girls? Or want to wait out here?”

He followed her inside, not wanting her to get into anymore trouble. She scanned the room quickly looking for at least one of her friends. Finally she spotted one. “There is one right there. I’ll be right back!” she called over her shoulder as she started towards her friend. Not knowing what else to do, he watched her walk away. Melinda walked up to Kim and pulled her from the guy she was dancing with. “Hey!” she yelled before seeing whom it was. “What’s up?” she asked her. Melinda told her how this guy came up to her and then what he had done. And that another guy had helped her out. And now this other guy wanted to take her out somewhere else and she had agreed.

“Are you sure you want to be leaving with some random guy Mel?” her friend asked her concerned. “I am so sure!” Melinda replied. Melinda then said to her friend, ‘Who is the one guy in this world I said I would never ever turn down to go out with? No matter what the situation?” Her friend thought a moment and answered, “Yeah, but you know that will never happen! Your chances of meeting AJ McLean are like slim to none.” “Want to bet?” Melinda pointed towards where he stood waiting for her. She turned back to her friend; “Here are the car keys. Take them home then drop the car off at my house. Or just keep it until tomorrow. I’m out!” With that she gave her a quick hug, putting the keys into her hand, and walked towards AJ.

Kim stood there in complete shock. “OMG! I cannot believe she actually met him here. Here!!! Does that mean that any of the rest of them are here too?” she said to herself. She smiled to herself and knew she was on a hunt now. Mel had found her favorite man on earth. Now she was going to search for hers. As her friend began her search, Melinda walked up and took AJ’s hand as they walked out together.

Melinda named a local spot that pretty dead at this time of night. She suggested it so that people who may recognize him wouldn’t mob him. They got there and were seated in a far dark corner that was lit by candlelight. The two sat and made themselves comfortable. Melinda was very nervous all of a sudden. She dreamed of this moment for so long, that she wasn’t sure what to do now that it was here. Sitting in silence at first, AJ reached across the table to take her hand in his. The contact made her look into his eyes.

“I am enjoying this right now,” he said to her. “Generally when I encounter a fan, they like are all over me and all. But not you. You are being yourself. Kinda shy, but yourself. I like that!” She blushed upon hearing him say this. “I am enjoying it too. I am actually quite surprised with how I am reacting to being with you. You are my dream guy. The one guy I always knew I’d never meet. And now here I am. I guess I am just shocked is all.” AJ was completely flattered with her utter honesty.

AJ kissed her hand, which he was still holding in his. “You have nothing to worry about with me sweetie. Just be you. That is all I ask of anyone. Not to try and be someone else. Something fake. I have a feeling I am seeing the real you right now. And I know I am liking her a lot right this minute!” Melinda again blushed at his words. He had this effect on. One that not many people did. They started talking about all kinds of things. Just getting to know each other.

The two sat and chatted for what seemed like hours, before finally AJ suggested that he bring her home. Melinda had had a long day, and as much as she would hate leaving him, invited his invitation. She thought that she should pay half of their bill, but he wouldn’t allow it. It was his place to take care of those things he kept telling her. Finally he took her out and helped her into his car. She directed him towards her home. The ride was silent, other than the few times she spoke up to give him a direction. He wondered why she became so quiet.

He pulled into her driveway and turned off the ignition. He turned and looked at her. She smiled at him before asking if he would walk her to the door. He agreed, jumping out of the car to help her out of her side. He walked with an arm around her shoulders, with her to the door. She got out of his grasp so she could turn and look him in the eyes. She smiled at him and thanked him for all he did that night. She said to him, “I never thought that one of my dreams would come true when I went to that club tonight. And you made it so great. I cannot thank you enough!”

AJ stood there silently for a few seconds after her last remark. He was debating whether or not to do what he wanted to so badly. Finally he gave in to desire, and decided to just do it. He reached out and pulled her to him. Kissing her as if it were a kiss to make up for all the times he would never be able to do it again. A kiss that was to be memorable for the first and last. A kiss that was so soft, sweet, and gentle. Breathtaking. She pulled away needing to catch her breath. She looked deep into his brown eyes, thinking about what she was about to do.

Snaking her arms around his neck, she pulled him close. Then whispered so softly, he wasn’t sure he even heard it, “Do you want to come in?” He took a moment to reply. Knowing that if he entered the house with her, there was no turning back. He knew what would happen. He felt it when he kissed her. She was craving the same as him. She wanted him as bad as he wanted her right this moment. He finally answered her. “You know that will change everything? I cannot guarantee that I will remain prim and proper!” he warned. She grabbed his hand and pulled him in behind her.
