Ohio Valley Wrestling: News.
As a result of his handicap match against Kenny "The King" Bolin and Prototype at the recent television taping, Rico "The Role Model" Costantino is out of Ohio Valley Wrestling! This shocking development came about when Costantino asked that the contest be made a Loser Leaves OVW match! Feeling severely burned by his unjust ousting from Bolin Services, Costantino wanted to make sure that, one way or another, he would never have to work with either Bolin or Prototype ever again!
Costantino got his wish, thanks to some fast thinking by Jim Cornette that tricked Bolin into agreeing to the new stipulations! But as circumstances would play out, Costantino ended up losing the match before the standing-room-only arena crowd because of having to battle not only Bolin and Prototype, but Mr. Black and Jerome Crony as well! After the match and after the cameras were off the air, Costantino had a very heartfelt message for OVW and the fans in Davis Arena which you can read all about right here!

Randy Orton vs. Leviathan w/ Synn
REF: Ray Ramsey
One thing you can say for Randy Orton is that he never backs down from a challenge! And tonight was no different as he took on the Demon of the Deep in singles competition. Orton had a strong showing in the beginning by trying to take Leviathan down with a number of drop kicks. But it was no easy feat to keep him down as Leviathan battled back in short order to dominate most of the match by just brutally punishing Orton. Orton tried to make a comeback with a flying cross-body and a cover attempt, but Leviathan kicked out and finished off Orton with a spear followed up by a massive powerbomb and a cover that got him the 1-2-3!
Jim Cornette Interviews Kenny "The King" Bolin
Kenny Bolin went to the broadcaster's desk where he attempted to get out of tonight's match with Rico Costantino by making excuses such as that he was sick with a temperature of 103 degrees despite looking in the peak of health...for Kenny Bolin, anyway! Cornette would hear nothing of his excuses, but offered him an "out"...Cornette told Bolin that Costantino offered to let him out of the match if Bolin would sign a form releasing Costantino from all contractual obligations with Bolin Services. Bolin eagerly signed the form Cornette presented him. But the second Bolin finished putting his signature on the document, Cornette informed him that the paper he just signed wasn't a contractual release, but an agreement that whomever got pinned in the match would have to leave OVW for good!!! An enraged Bolin started trying to choke Cornette while Dean Hill attempted to pull Bolin off him! Bolin and Hill then ended up tumbling down the steps that lead up to the desk! Hill reported later that he landed on Bolin at the bottom of the steps breaking his fall!
Loser Leaves Ohio Valley Wrestling
Rico Costantino vs. Prototype & Kenny Bolin
REF: Robert Brisko
Because of the stipulations added a few minutes before, this match suddenly takes on a whole new seriousness as it means someone will be leaving Ohio Valley Wrestling for good! And all three competitors of this handicap match display that level of intensity right from the outset. Rico Costantino begins by facing off against Prototype, his former tag team partner. Costantino starts out strong as he takes Prototype down with a drop toe-hold followed by a series of armdrags. Prototype looks for help early on from his tag partner for the night, but when he approaches Bolin for the tag, Bolin turns his back on Proto and refuses to enter the ring! Prototype reluctantly goes back to battling Costantino who continues his all-out assault. Costantino plants a series of martial arts kicks to the chest and head of Prototype and looks to have solid control of the match. After an attempt at a cover by Costantino, The Role Model gets up and rushes over to Bolin to try to get in a few shots to his former manager. But Prototype gets up and puts a forearm to the back of Costantino's head which allows Proto to take control of the match. Prototype then puts a couple of snap suplexes on Costantino softening him up for a now-eager Bolin who wants to get in and mix it up! Bolin tags in and delivers a couple of forearms to the back and head of Costantino, but then tags Prototype back in to deliver some more punishment. Prototype puts on a few elbows and scoopslams and then finishes up with a move that could be called a "tilt-a-whirl" sidewalk slam! Bolin is tagged in one more time and proceeds to do his version of The Rock's Elbow called the "Porky's Elbow"! He slid off the elbow pad and then raced across the ring as only a 300+ pound man can! He dropped down with the elbow only to meet canvas as Costantino rolled out of the way at the very last possible second! Costantino gets up and puts a couple of hard boots to Bolin who crawls to a turnbuckle! Prototype enters back into the ring where he gets a couple of clotheslines and a pancake for his troubles. Costantino then signals for and pulls off Sudden Impact! But before Costantino can go for a cover, Jerome Crony rushes out of the back and jumps on the ring apron. Costantino grabs the top rope and launches Crony into the ring. Once inside, Crony gets put down hard with a pancake to the mat, and Costantino turns his attention to Bolin who is crumpled up in the corner in a heap. But before he can put any fists to Bolin's face, Prototype delivers another elbow to Costantino from behind just as Mr. Black rushes out of the back and gets on the ring apron. Prototype whips Costantino into Black who holds him as Prototype charges toward him! Costantino slips to the side as Prototype collides into Black sending him to the floor. Costantino grabs Prototype in a schoolboy rollup, but only gets a count of two on his cover. Costantino then rushes over to Bolin who is getting up by this point and puts a couple of fists to his face! Prototype is up as well and grabs Bolin for an Irish whip into the ropes. Costantino comes off the ropes where Prototype leapfrogs over him, and Costantino's head collides with the thick skull of Kenny Bolin's! The blow puts Costantino down on the mat first, and Bolin just falls over him losing consciousness! It's enough of a cover that Brisko gets down on all fours and counts the three count victory for Kenny "The King" Bolin!! Costantino has lost the match and must now leave Ohio Valley Wrestling for good!!!
Bolin and Prototype made their way quickly to the back leaving a stunned Costantino in the ring who looked to head referee Robert Brisko for answers. As the studio cameras shut off for the commercial break, Costantino grabbed the house mic and proceeded to thank everyone in OVW for all their support over the past two years. He then turned toward the audience and in a very heartfelt way told everyone in attendance that OVW fans were the best he ever performed for and probably ever would perform for! Jim Cornette, said by many to have tears welling up in his eyes, joined Costantino in the ring where he gave The Role Model a big bear hug amid a standing ovation and "Rico" chants from everyone in Davis Arena. The chants continued on as Rico Costantino left Davis Arena for the very last time.
Jim Cornette Interviews The Suicide Blondes
Derrick King and Jason Lee, OVW's newest tag team champions from last week's match with The Minnesota Stretching Crew, appeared in the ring with Jim Cornette for an impromptu interview along with Sister Sharmell. Jason Lee explained how they are not afraid of Brock Lesnar or Shelton Benjamin especially with someone like Sister Sharmell in their corner. Sharmell then explained that her involvement in last week's match came as the result of a confrontation with Lesnar where he allegedly called her some disparaging names! Whatever the reason, her involvement proved effective as The Suicide Blondes now look to defend their OVW Southern Tag Team Titles in future matches.
Contenders Match for Tag Team Titles
Brock Lesnar & Shelton Benjamin vs. Payne & Damien w/ Synn & Swail
REF: Ray Ramsey
To determine who would be the next team to get a shot at those tag titles, a special contenders match was set up to pit the MSC against the Disciples of Synn with the winner facing The Suicide Blondes after the Thanksgiving break. This bout began with Brock Lesnar facing Payne in the opening with Lesnar putting on a dominating offense. After a series of a hard-hitting slams by Lesnar utilizing his amateur background, Shelton Benjamin tags in and is like a whirlwind against Damien who can't seem to keep up with him as Benjamin puts one armdrag takedown after another on him! Lesnar and Payne tag back in where Payne continues his hard-hitting assault. He picks Payne up for a big slam, but Damien rushes in the ring and takes Lesnar's legs out from under him. The Disciples spend the next few minutes doubleteaming and working on the left leg of Lesnar keeping him isolated from tagging his partner. But despite the pounding he's taking, Lesnar manages to finally tag in Benjamin who clears the ring. But soon, all four men are in the ring going at it in a free-for-all! That's when Connie Swail decides to get involved in the match and enters the ring and starts pounding away on Lesnar's back! Lesnar turns around and looks at Swail as though she were an aggravating horsefly! He picks her up high in the air and tosses her into Damien! While the referee is distracted by the skirmish between Benjamin and Payne off in the corner, Synn comes in the ring and throws a fireball in the face of Lesnar!! Damien then covers Benjamin, and Referee Ramsey begins the count. But just as his hand is about to come down for three, Senior Referee Robert Brisko rushes out of the back and calls for the bell! Apparently he saw the fireball on a backstage monitor and rushed out with a towel for the burned Lesnar! The match is called a no-contest as people come in from the back to the aid of Lesnar.
Nick Dinsmore & Damaja vs. Sean Casey & Chris Michaels
REF: Donna Derring
This very fast paced match saw a unique pairing of Nick Dinsmore and Damaja as a tag team. While they are not normally accustomed to having one another as partners, these two men worked very well together against a well-established team. Damaja got off to a good start against Chris Michaels at the outset, but it was Dinsmore that was the man to take the brunt of Michaels' and Casey's offense. One of the things you notice about a good tag team like Casey and Michaels is that they always try to pick the weaker partner of a tag team to isolate and work on (while no one would argue Dinsmore is the 'weaker' of him and Damaja, he does give up a size advantage to many opponents which they take advantage of). But Dinsmore didn't give them that advantage long as he successfully came back to tag Damaja. Damaja cleaned house on Casey and Michaels and called for Brain Damage early on Casey, but Michaels was right there with the doubleteaming efforts forcing Dinsmore to come back in the ring where he and Damaja each pulled off their finishing moves getting a double pin on Casey and Michaels at the same time.
Mark Henry's Message for D-Lo Brown
As you'll recall, D-Lo Brown walked out on his match with Mark Henry during the last television taping. Henry feels this issue has not been successfully settled and is looking for a televised rematch. Henry came to the announcers' desk at this point in the show and challenged Brown to another match. He says he plans on giving Brown a beating he will never forget! No word as yet if Brown has accepted the challenge, but it's a good bet he will!
OVW Heavyweight Title Match
Machine w/ Queen Victoria vs. Flash
REF: Robert Brisko
Flash has been doing everything he can to guarantee a shot at Machine's OVW Heavyweight Title even going so far as to act as Machine's "guardian angel" when Machine would defend his title in other matches. Well tonight, Flash would get his chance! Flash was so anxious for the match to begin, he didn't even wait for the show to come back from commercial break and started brawling with Machine right then and there! Ever the show stealer, Flash begins by clotheslining Machine over the top rope and to the floor and then taking a running dive over that same top rope to land on top of Machine! He brings Machine back in the ring where he delivers a few more solid hits by springboarding off the ropes before Machine gains control of the match. Machine spends the next few minutes working on the previously injured left arm of Flash. He concentrates a series of knees and fists to the arm as well as bashing it against the turnbuckles. It looks like Machine has total control of the situation, but then Bull Buchanan comes to ringside with a folding chair pacing back and forth like a rabid animal waiting for some signal! Buchanan's presence distracts Machine enough that he misses Flash with a diving head butt from the top turnbuckle! That gives Flash enough incentive to go for a cover, but as Brisko's hand is coming down for the third time, Queen Victoria pulls Brisko out of the ring! As Brisko is reading Victoria the riot act, Buchanan is holding Big Bad John and Smooth Johnny Spade at bay with that chair while Machine goes for a set of brass knuckles in his tights! In an instant, Trailer Park Trash comes out of the back and into the ring and grabs the knucks from Machine before he gets a chance to put them on! Trash grabs the knucks, slips them on, and then hits both Machine and Flash in the jaw sending them both to the canvas! Trash then slides out of the ring near Buchanan and looks to unload on him, but Buchanan brings up the chair just as Trash is swinging his fist! The 'knucked' fist of Trash collides with the chair in a sharp thud that has everyone in the arena wince! Just then, Machine somehow manages to drape an arm over Flash in the middle of the ring, and Brisko comes back in to make the three count! Machine has retained his heavyweight title yet again while The Revolution battles it out with Buchanan and Trash on the outside!
