What it means to be a Yankee fan in New England:
You know that if you live in New England and you are a Yankee fan that you will get a lot of crap for rooting for the "EVIL EMPIRE". I know personally - I currently live in Maine and have lived here since I moved up from Red Hook, New York back in 1994. Whenever the Sox are in first place in the beginning of the year (which they usually are for about a month or so) all Sox fans think "This is the year!!!!!!" Well Yankee fans, there are many things we can do to shut them up and show them just who is the superior team of the two: 1) The famous "1918" chant is usually a good one; 2) never forget that we have won 26 World Series titles since they have won their last one; 3) "Wait until October" - this usually works because we all know what happens to the Sox after the all-star break;
4) when the Yankees beat the Red Sox, wear as much Yankee paraphernalia as you can - that definitely pisses them off. Yell "the curse lives" while you are rubbing it in their faces; 5) and a favorite among some Yankee fans whom I know up here is, two words, "BUCKY DENT!" (and now we can add "AARON BOONE!") There are other ways to shut the Red Sox fans up but that can be discussed at a later time. Until then, GO YANKEES!!!!!!
