Charles G. Turrill was the father of Henry L. Turrill...a "father and son act" in Company F of the 36th.
Reported via email, Charles enlisted 8/20/1861 at the "town" of Tunnel, Washington County, OH. Charles obviously "fibbed" to the recruiter when he reported his age as 40. Charles was born March 10, 1810, in Litchfield County, CT. That means that Charles was actually over 50 when he enlisted! Charles was medically discharged on March 16, 1863, at Parkersburg, WV. Charles died April 17, 1872, and is buried at Tunnel Cemetery, Warren Township, Washington County, OH.
