I want to thank Robin and Derek Sass for letting me borrow this poem! This poem was written by one of their friends when there daughter Alexis died at twenty nine days old.

I'll Be Watching Over You
by
Diane Bair Gilmore

You'll never see my fingerprints on the bookcase in the hall.
You'll never see my autograph with crayons on the wall.

You'll never hear my small voice whisper, Mom and Dad, I love you so.
Heavenly Father is calling me home so quickly I must go.

But I will leave a fingerprint in the center of your heart
So you will always remember me, I am so sorry we have to part.

I'll autograph a picture that will always be in your mind Our Heavenly Father sends his love and assures you all is fine.

But you see, he needed me as part of his eternal plan, and I will
lead the way for our family into the promised land.

My voice you will hear all around when each new day begins,
in the cooing of a snow white dove or the blowing of the wind.

Thank you for the chance I had to come to earth a while
and when you think of me be sure to wear a smile.

I was not meant to stay, I have work I need to do...
For now I am an angel and I'll be watching over you.

"Love is patient, love is kind and evies no one,
Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
never selfish, not quick to take offense.
Love keeps no score of wrongs;
does not gloat over another's sins, but delights in truth.
There is nothing love cannot face;
there is no limit to its faith, its hope and its endurance.
In a word, there are three things that last forever: faith, hope, and love;
but the greatest of them all is love."
--1 Corinthians 13

This one isn't a poem, it is actually another quote from Early Edition on CBS:

"There's all kinds of courage in this crazy life. Not just the John Wayne save-the-world kind. Sometimes you need a ton of courage just to speak your mind. Follow your heart, opening up, telling someone how you really feel. There oughta be a purple heart for that. Then there's the courage it takes to live with a mistake. Go through the worst and start over. There's all kind of courage out there. Hey, that person standing next to you on the subway car, in the supermarket, take a closer look next time. Who knows, it might be you're standing next to a hero."

I found this song on the internet:

"Visitor From Heaven" -- Twila Paris

A visitor from heaven
If only for a while
A gift of love to be returned
We think of you and smile

A visitor from heaven
Accompanied by grace
Reminding of a better love
and a better place
With aching hearts and empty arms
We send you with a name
It hurts so much to let you go
But we're so glad you came

A visitor from heaven if only for a day
We thank Him for the time He gave and now it's time to say
We trust you to the Father's love and to His tender care
Held in the everlasting arms and we're so glad you're there
We're so glad you're there

With breaking hearts and open hands
We send you with a name
It hurts so much to let you go
But, we're so glad you came
We're so glad you came

The Comfort of His Love

When I'm in need of courage
On Him I can rely,
I merely need to ask His help
For He is standing by.

He fortifies my wanting strength
When pressures take their toll,
And little heartaches make it hard
To keep tears in control.

He gives me hope for better times
When treasures slip away,
He inspires me with glowing faith
That clearly lights my way.

I'm grateful for His blessed
Intervention from above,
But most of all, I'm greatful
For His sweet, unselfish love.

Love is the only thing that we can carry with us when we go, and it makes the end so easy.
- Louisa May Alcott

Light a candle for hope, for
remembrance. No matter where you are,
or which holiday it is for you, light a
candle for love, it is the greatest
light of all.
- Darcie Sims and Andrea Gambill

What we have once enjoyed
and deeply loved we can never lose,
for all that we love deeply
becomes a part of us.
- Helen Keller

God Said "Wait"

Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried.
Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied.

I plead and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the Master so gently said, "Child, you must wait!"

"'Wait?', you say, wait!" my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!

Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By faith I have asked, and am claiming your Word.

"My future and all to which I can relate
Hangs in the balance, and you tell me to wait?

I'm needing a 'yes,' a go-ahead sign,
Or even a 'no' to which I can resign.

"And Lord, you promised that if we believe
We need but to ask, and we shall receive.

And Lord, I've been asking, and this is my cry
I'm weary of asking! I need a reply!"

Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate
As my Master replied once again, "You must wait."

So, I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut
And grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting. . .for what?"

He seemed then to kneel and His eyes wept with mine,
And he tenderly said, "I could give you a sign.

I could shake the heavens, and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead, and cause mountains to run.

All you seek, I could give, and pleased you would be.
You would have what you want -- but, you wouldn't know Me.

"You'd not know the depth of my love for each saint;
You'd not know the power that I give to the faint;

You'd not learn to see through the clouds of despair;
You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there;

You'd not know the joy of resting in me
When darkness and silence were all you could see.

"You'd never experience that fullness of love
As the peace of my Spirit descends like a dove;

You'd know that I give and I save. . .(for a start),
But you'd not know the depth of the beat of my heart.

"The glow of my comfort late into the night.
The faith that I give when you walk without sight,

The depth that's beyond getting just what you asked
Of an infinite God, who makes what you have last.

"You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee,
What it means that 'My grace is sufficient for thee.'

Yes, your dreams for your loved ones overnight would come true,
But, oh, the loss! if I lost what I'm doing in you!

"So, be silent, my child, and in time you will see
That the greatest of gifts is to get to know me.

And though oft may my answers seem terribly late,
My wisest of answers is still but to wait."
