The guys looked a little shell-shocked to see Amanda there, and it appeared that she was a little stunned herself.
As they took their seats, Nick, Brian, and A.J. glanced at each other then looked back at Amanda.
Howie and Kevin didn't recognize her, but they were confused by the others' reactions.
Oh, man! She knows now, and we didn't tell her ourselves! She is gonna hate me! Brian was in agony.
Wow! She looks hot in that suit. I wonder why she never said that she was one of the writers? Nick winked at her.
I should have guessed! I mean, she said that she was presenting some material, and Nick even almost blurted out the truth about us. I wonder if she knew this whole time. A.J. wondered.
I know she looks familiar, but I just can't place her. This sitting down is going to drive me crazy. I wish Howie would stop. Kevin glanced at his friend who was tapping his pencil against the table.
These writers look like a bunch of college kids. I hope that they know what they are doing. Hmmmm, Amanda is kinda cute. Howie looked back at Kevin. Why is Kevin looking at me like that? Oh, the pencil.
Max was the first to begin speaking. He talked about how they all got together, and what kind of training each one of them had.
Phillip continued talking about the style of music that they focused on and the themes of their music. He also discussed why they felt their material was something that the Backstreet Boys would like and could use.
Amanda didn't pay much attention to her partners while they were talking and Max had to nudge her when it came time for her to speak.
She passed out copies of the musical score and while Max was prepping the sound system to play the instrumental version of their songs, she asked if anyone had questions.
Yeah, did you know who we were yesterday, or are you as shocked as we are? Brian wanted to ask.
Do you have any plans for lunch? I know this really great place… Nick's hormones were in overdrive.
Will you sing for us? I know you said that you aren't great, but I would listen. A.J. was very curious.
I wonder if I could run to the restroom quickly…. This coffee is really getting to me. Kevin checked out the distance between his chair and the door.
I feel so jittery. Maybe I should just get a cup of coffee to settle me down. Howie continued his tapping.
It was a good thing that Donna had a few questions because the boys were so caught up in their thoughts that they didn't even realize the time passed.
When Amanda and her partners were done answering Donna's questions, she directed their attention to the packets of music in front of them. The taped music was queued so Amanda began with the actual introduction of the songs.
"In the packet before you, you will find ten songs that we have prepared for this meeting. We also believe that these are ten songs out of our repertoire that could be used for your next album. The first selection is titled, 'I Hear Ya'."
The upbeat music that came out of the speakers caught the guys' attention. The accompanying lyrics were just as upbeat, but there was an ironic twist to the words.
The basic idea is that the guy loves his girl, but he won't change who he is to prove his love; she has to take him faults and all.
Amanda continued to lead the group through the remaining nine songs.
When the tape was over, she concluded the presentation thanking the Boys and their management for their time and consideration.
Donna thanked Amanda and her partners.
"We will be in touch with you by the end of the week with our decision." The writing team gathered up their materials and left the room.
"Hey, Donna! Before we begin, can we take a short break?" Kevin was in agony.
"Okay, you have ten minutes."
The Boys raced out of the room, and all but Nick headed for the restroom.
Nick wandered down the hall and saw Amanda waiting at the elevator with her friends.
