Chapter Nine

"Amanda! Wait a sec!" Nick called and headed toward her.

She said something to her companions and they got on the elevator, leaving Amanda to talk to Nick.

"Hi, Nick."

"Why didn't you tell us that you were going to be here today?"

"Well, when Brian kicked you, I thought that you didn't want me to know that you were all Backstreet Boys."

"Oh, yeah. Are you mad at us for not telling you?"

"Nah, I already knew, and I figured that you didn't want to talk about it."

Nick jumped on it. "You already knew?"

Amanda smiled, "I have liked your music for some time now, and my housemate Liv is crazy about you all - let me tell you, her walls are plastered with all of your faces.

So when I met you and your friends, I could recognize you. Although, it took me awhile to place B.J. Carter's older brother Nick as the Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys."

Nick blushed. "So you're not upset because we didn't tell you ourselves?"

"No, I know what it's like to not have to talk about yourself 24/7. At least with you, people know that it's you. For me, I get to talk about Julia Hargrove."

Both of them laughed, and Nick knew that nothing had changed.

"Nick, come on. You're ten minutes are up." Donna called from the boardroom.

"I had better go. Can I call you later? Maybe we could do something sometime." Nick quickly asked.

"Sure, here's my business card. I know they're silly, but I just got them, and you're one of the first people that I have given it too." She grinned and he laughed.

"Okay, I'll give you a call later."

"Bye."

Nick walked back to the boardroom to find everyone waiting for him. He tucked the card in his wallet and sat down.
