SmartKey remote control integrates door lock/unlock buttons, remote trunk opener, removable valet key and panic alarm. Driver may selectively unlock only the driver's door and fuel filler, or all doors plus the trunk and fuel filler. Unlocking the car activates illuminated entry system. SmartKey offers infrared-remote opening/closing of windows and optional sunroof. Night security illumination uses the car's exterior lights to help illuminate a path after parking. Driveaway locking can automatically lock all the doors when the car reaches 9 mph. Restraint Systems Integrated Restraint System Driver and front passenger are each provided with a front air bag, door-mounted side-impact air bag, and a 3-point seat belt with Emergency Tensioning Retractor (ETR) and belt force limiter. Outboard rear passengers are each provided with a door-mounted side-impact air bag and a 3-point seat belt with ETR. Center rear passenger, is also provided with a 3-point seat belt. BabySmart™ system automatically deactivates the front passenger's front air bag when a BabySmart-compatible child seat is properly installed. Selectable passenger seat-belt retractors help secure child seats.1 Head Protection Curtains In a side impact exceeding a preset threshold, a multi-chamber air bag deploys to cover the front and rear side-door glass on the affected side of the car. Occupancy sensor prevents the front passenger's front and side-impact air bags from deploying if seat is unoccupied. An ETR will not deploy if the seat belt is unfastened. Front seat belts include height-adjustable shoulder belts and lower points attached to seat frames. Outboard rear shoulder belts height-adjust automatically. Front head restraints automatically height-adjust as the seats move fore-aft (with power override). Front head restraints also adjust fore-aft manually. Three rear-seat head restraints, manually adjustable fore-aft and driver-retractable for improved rearward vision when rear seats are unoccupied. 1.
