Insect Shamans usually tend to be loners. Giving up the need for friendship or companionship...once they have been initiated into the highter mysterious of the Insect Totem. Most of their free time is spent in study...or learning more about these beings that were summoned. After the first few months after the summoning....voices, chattering... are heard in the Shamans mind. A constant link that would drive most people over the edge. But since the individual...who embraced the song of the insect was able to withstand...such things.... they tend to fair quiet well. An Insect Shamans personality seems... to work against itself. It might be described as.. having the qualities of an yin-yang sign. The good and the evil. Light and dark. They are almost an utter paranoid person, thinking that plots are made against them...night and day. With the enhanced state of being....that the insects allow, the shaman gains new powers....and abilities...that other magicians would be deathly afraid of. It would seem... perhaps evil to some. But, it is mostly up to the shaman...how he reacts to their constant presence. They can choose to have more humanity, or not. The insect doesn't care, all they care about is existance. The spirits have the curiousity of a small child. They constantly need more information about their surroundings....about possible threats. Its a lonely path that the Insect Shaman walks.
These particular Shamans prefer to be mostly in the desert...or deep within mountians. Thats usually where the Hive of Insect Spirits will live. Any other place where the population of others is quite low....would work nicely. As insects normally do, they create...more than they kill. The same is apparant in their spirit brothers. An Insect Shaman is the great creator, a master of healing arts. There is also a very dark...and destructive side to these individuals. During rituals, and other ways to learn the way of the insect... they often are involved in self inflicted mutilation. Often it is the request of the spirits, as a test...of faith. In other cases...it may be some sort of offering to the insects. Little is known about these, people....but a few traits are very obvious. They are drifters, loners...not staying in one place for to long. They always stand out in the croud...mostly in regards to their physical attributes. These Shamans are not the typical magicians. Their magics are used for mostly healing and creating purposes. They will try to walk away from confrontations....but.. if backed into a wall, in a situation that is totally unavoiadable... beware. The insanity that rages in the mind.. of both, teacher.. and creator (which often reverses roles) would be much more than the average magician could handle. They can be close friends to others, or somebody that one would avoid at all costs. They path they tred is long, and difficult....it is just best.. to sometimes to let them go about their business.
