Marie Fjordholm and Whitney Ferguson: Friends Forever
Marie Fjordholm and Whitney Ferguson have been close friends for over three years, since they both moved to Cincinnatti Gymnastics Academy to further their elite gymnastics training. It was at CGA that they got to know each other well and became best friends. Through the intense training they endured together every day, they understood each other well. In mid-1998, both girls decided to change gyms. Whitney went to Parkettes in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Marie went to Wolrld Olympic Gymnastics Academy in Plano, Texas. Both felt they needed new training environments to further their progress. Though Whitney and Marie are now separated by a few thousands miles, they remain close friends through the internet, letters, phonecalls, and they see each other at meets. Recently, both girls qualified to the 1999 U.S. National Championships, at the 1999 U.S. Classic. Whitney placed 14th in the junior division, and Marie was 7th in the senior division. Congratulations to the girls on their successes, and may the remain good friends always.
