New Kid On The Block Jon Knight has a strange sort of typical day for a pop star - cleaning up after birds and talking to animals!
If I'm home, like recently, my day would probably start with me getting up at around midday. I never can get out of the habit of the sleeping pattern I get used to when I'm on the road. So I'll get up late and maybe have breakfast. If I get up a little earlier I've have oatmeal or something light but if I get up late I kinda lump it in with lunch and I'll have maybe ham, potatoes, toast, things like that, or a sandwich.
I'll go through any mail, I never write letters so I don't have anything to reply to and my accountant does my bank statement, so it may be house bills, junk mail or stuff like that. My days vary depending on what I'm doing at the time. Like, if I'm on tour I get a sheet of paper through my door every day telling me what's happening from hour to hour. That can be irritating but when you get home for the first week you wake up in your own bed and you're like, where's my piece of paper? What the heck am I gonna go all day? After that you get into a routine. We've had five months off and my days have been spent doing all different things. Sometime I'm at my house in Florida; I hadn't been there for so long that when I first went to visit it I wondered if it would still be standing. It didn't get damaged in the hurricane thing - it just missed me but there was a lot of damage in Florida. Some of the time I was in Los Angeles so that would involve business breakfasts with movie people - I've been negotiating a movie deal as I've always wanted to act.
I'll go check my farm. I have so many animals now, as well as the sheep, donkey and swans. I've got two peacocks - one used to be Jordan's but he moved out so I adopted his. They live in my apartment in the house and they keep messing everywhere, so I'll often spend a few minutes scraping the peacock poo off the sofas! I should really make them live outside but they look too cozy indoors, and they're really friendly - they come up and take food off my plate and everything!
After I've seen all the animals, I'll do a few chores, or maybe if we're recording I have to go to the studio too. If I go to the studio I'll meet the guys there, we all drive there separately - I got a new car last April so I'll drive that to the studio. If we aren't recording then I'll do chores, maybe clean up a bit, cook some food, clean out the animals' homes, feed and water them, talk to them. Then I'll do some gardening. I could spend all day in the garden; I have a huge yard. I like to cut the grass myself - I could get someone to else to do it but I enjoy it.
Maybe later I'll meet some friends or meet some of the guys or go over to Jordan's and then come home and watch some videos or a film on TV.
Because I'm on tour time I don't go to bed until really late - so I'll phone friends and we chat until early hours. Most of my friends have to go to work so they're in bed but it's a good time to phone people in other time zones, like friends in England or Los Angeles.
Then, eventually, I'll go to bed and read a book for a while until I get tired enough to fall asleep. I have trouble sleeping but once I fall into a sleep it's hard to wake me up again...and then it all happens again the next day!
