At the opposite end of the spectrum is New Kids on the Block teen dream Jordan Knight, who is about as likely to do funny things with utensils as Mother Teresa would be to put a bottle on her head and dance the hula. It's not that Jordan doesn't have fun impulses; it's just that he has people who cut them short-that's their job. One night at La palace de Beaute', a party promoter handed Jordan a glass of champagne and he chugged it down in one fell gulp. But when a second glass was offered to him, Jordan got nervous and said "Are you trying to get me drunk?" At the same time, a bodyguard made sure that wouldn't happen (no more libations were allowed). When the promoter asked Jordan what he thought of telephone sex lines, the singer said that he'd not only had he never been on one, he'd never heard of them. The promoter lured Jordan away from the bodyguards, brought him into the club's office, and called one, urging the poor heartthrob to listen in for just a few seconds. Sweetly, he claimed he couldn't hear a thing and hung up. Somehow, I believe him.
