DISH_DIVA: Welcome to the Starloft! Tonight our guest is Platinum Recording Artist, Joey McIntyre. Joey can be seen this Saturday with fellow Platinum artist, Britney Spears on the Disney Channel.

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I just wanna say thanks for hanging out with me and whatever you want to know -- I'll try to be as honest as possible.

HUNNIEPOOH: Joey, congratulations on your tour. You did a wonderfully. So any final decisions on the new single yet? Nancy, CA

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Well we are still deciding which way we want to go. We might have a vote and let the fans decide -- I want to get some feedback. I like all the songs, they're important to me, since I wrote them they're like my babies. To answer your question we haven't decided yet and we'll know by next week.

LYNETTE: Joe, Are you a Red Sox fan, and are you going to any of the games?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I sang the National anthem at game 4 of the wildcard series...

And I hope to catch game 5 at Fenway... I'm a huge fan and I'll either be there or watching on TV for sure!

JOESCUTIE99: Crystal from Dallas here, Hey Joe!! Did you enjoy working with Britney Spears in concert? Is she cool?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: She was very cool... and very easy going. I think she handles her popularity very well. We had a lot of fun and it was exciting to be teamed up with someone who is talented and has a lot of experience in the business at such a young age.

SHANNONREA: Joey, I saw you at Disney World with Britney when I was with my parents on vacation. What is your favorite thing to do at Disney World?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: The good thing about doing a show at Disney World is that you can cut all the lines and go on the rides. There's one ride called "The Rock N Roller Coaster" was incredible.. centered around Aerosmith which is a Boston band... and I love walking around the park.

KITTEN: What is your favorite song that you wrote?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: kitten, it's kind of tough to say.. but "Stay the Same" because it just has a good meaning and its kind of a song that stands out as far as where I was coming from...its the one song that I really didn't go by a certain formula.. I stretched myself song writing wise.. and that was a good lesson to learn.

JEANETTE: Joe, just a game update...I am watching while chatting with you...3rd inning Yanks-0 Sox-0

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I know all about it..

I LOVEJOEYMC: Hey Joey. I've been a fan since NKOTB. Do you prefer solo or working with a group?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I'd have to say solo...but that’s only because that’s what I’m doing now. I really enjoyed what I was doing with the group and I wouldn't trade it for the world...this is much more challenging and therefore a lot more rewarding and it feels right and comfortable.

JENNIFER_LOPEZ_OO: Joe, what was it like to drive the racecar?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: It was a lot of fun.. A lot of fun! You know, it’s the real deal getting in these cars that are going 150mph.. driving them yourself. The fastest I went was 124mph and it was exhilarating...to do it the way I did it and to be at Disney World and get those kind of perks was really cool.. it was kinda like Christmas.

FLIRTYGIRL: Jessica from Puerto Rico wants to know what you did in all these years after being with the new kids on the block

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I did a good amount of acting in local plays and professional plays...I did different kinds of music, worked on big band music and that’s how it got me back into performing and writing music. I just had time to hang out and spend time at home and figure out what I wanted to do.

NEW_KID_ON_THE_BLOCK: What music do you listen to?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Little bit of everything.. There’s a new CD called "Tal Bachman"... and it's just a great rock and roll pop record and I really admire that...

but then I can listen to Mary J Blyge <sp>, Shania Twain, the Pretenders, Luther Vandross.. all kinds of stuff. I've got to make my next video... right now we're deciding on the next single..we don't know what the next video will be.. but hopefully we'll make one in the fall and we'll see what happens.

MELANIE2: Joey, I love love love "Stay the Same." My mom brought my CD player in when I was in the hospital and you are all I listened to, and still do. You are my favorite artist. Can you tell me what your favorite song is on this wonderful album?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: melanie, I guess it's "Stay the Same" because of its meaning but I like all the songs. Each song is a part of me...and I like all kinds of music so I try to represent that in different kinds of sound.

BOSTONGIRL: Hey Joe! I went to two of your concerts this summer! They were great! I luv ya! Best of luck to you in the future! I wanted to know where you see yourself, in say five years? Will you still want to be singing and writing music? -Steph from PA

JOEY_MCINTYRE: If I had a crystal ball....I hope I'm writing music and performing .. sometimes I get caught up in the business side of things and its important for me to listen to my heart and do what I think is most creative at the time..therefore, sometimes you know, I might not be ready next year or 2 years or 3 years.. and maybe my album will come out later..but we'll have to wait to see.. I hope it is music and acting and theatre.. that’s what I love to do.

KITTY3: Joey, what do you miss most when your away from your home like when your doing concerts

JOEY_MCINTYRE: kitty, I guess just the regular every day "sleeping in your bed" waking up and being able to go to the same gym everyday, taking a walk around the neighborhood, doing laundry in your own place... simple stuff like that .. I guess that's what I miss.

LISAE942: Hey Joey I saw you at Hampton beach a few weeks ago and you were awesome are you performing in the Boston area again soon?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: lisae, I have two shows on New Year's Eve at the Paradise Rock Club... one at 7pm for the under 21 crowd, and then we have one at 11pm.. so we're gonna be rocking and rolling..I figured I was going to be taking it really slow on New Years or I wanted to be on stage.. so that’s what I'm gonna do.

JOES1NONLY: Joe, I'd like to know if you have any surprises in store for us on New Year's? There's girls coming from around the world. What can we expect?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I realize that people are coming from around the world for this and I really appreciate this..I wanted to make this special..I loved what I did in my last show... and I wanted it to be different.. but I'm certainly not going to let out any of the surprises.

NewGirlontheBlock: Joe, I think your wicked cool. I was wondering if you were still friends with the old NKOTBS?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Yeah, we keep in touch... we don't see each other a lot because we have our own lives and we're busy.. we have families. I wouldn't say we're best buddies but we do keep in touch here and there and there's a lot of respect there and admiration. No, NKOTB was like another activity when I was a young kid. It was a lot of fun .. I guess I did miss out on some things but I think every kid in my classroom would have traded places with me...I had a lot of fun and I certainly got burned out and tired after a while but I think the experience that I had is what counts and I guess its helped me in a lot of ways for me doing what I'm doing now.

FELICIA: Joey, did you attend college or have you ever taken any courses?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I never did go to college and I haven't taken any courses.

But... you know I'm over the fact that I thought I was too old to go and it's interesting and inticing.. the idea of going to college again... to really learn about something and study something... I think I'd be more into now than I was at 19 or 20 years old.

SAYJESTAR: Hey Joe! I was curious as to how you pick the cities you choose to visit on tour. Please come to or close to WV! Thanks! Lisa,15,WV~Official Joe Lounge G

JOEY_MCINTYRE: SayjeStar, well we try to route the tours as easy as possible because we're in a bus...this time going back out on the road was interesting...I learned a lot being back out there by myself and there is certainly some things I do differently...but all in all.. I had a really good time and the next time I go out I'll be sure to stop by the Virginias.

DOVES2 Hey Joey have you ever considered doing a Christmas album. I still really love your song "I Still Believe In Santa Clause"

JOEY_MCINTYRE: doves, well sure .. sure I'd like to do it. I don't think it's gonna be this Christmas and it may or may not be next Christmas but I love singing those songs and those standards...it reminds me a lot of the music of Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole and those guys are high on my list so we'll see what happens.

BOUBIE: Joe, I saw your show at the Hampton Beach Casino and you were so fun to watch. Where do you get your energy? You were outstanding!!

JOEY_MCINTYRE: For me to be on the road and doing 4 or 5 shows a week...its much safer and healthier to give everything you have every night and support it with a lot of energy...because if I don't do that I’m bound to hurt my voice or injure myself... I like to give it all I like to give 110% and leave it all on the stage and you guys make it easy to do that because I have the best fans in the world.

LTTLEGIRL: Joe man, my family's a bunch of golf maniacs, and I know you're one too. Just wanna know: what do you shoot?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Best round I ever had was an 84 and it was in a Tournament.. it won the tournament.. so I'm good when it counts.

STINKYBADGER: I still have a stuffed doll of you...are you going to come out with any new merchandise like that?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Yeah, that’s on the top of my list.... and number 2 are marbles ... <grin>

KIMBERLY: Have you ever done a musical? If so, what one?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: kimberly, Oh I've done tons.. "Oliver", "Music Man" "George M" "Sound of Music" "Annie" all the favorites.

GIVEITUP: Will you be acting in the future?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I would say yes .. it's something I love to do and I've always done it so I wouldn't be surprised to see me acting in the future.

SILLY: did you enjoy doing Fanatic on MTV?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: It was fun... we did it in Las Vegas which is a fun place to begin with...I always seem to have fun when there's cameras around.. so it was a lot of fun and the fan was interesting.

FELICIA: Are their tickets still available for the New Year's Party you are throwing? And how does one get tickets?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Felicia, you can get them online right now but they're not sold on the street so to speak... we will be releasing the tickets to everyone soon.. but right now you can get them at I think Next Tickets Online.. but I'm sure you can find out at my website... http://www.joeymcintyre.com

ALICIA: So, who do ya want to win the World Series? I am personal routing for Boston because I don't like the New York teams or Atlanta

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I think that the Boston Red Sox are America's team right now because no one really wants to see New York win again...I think we all agree they've had enough glory...Atlanta I think everybody is sick of and they've had enough chances to win the series...Since Boston hasn't won since 1918 I think we're due.

COFFEEGIRL: Instead of letting rumors continue, please settle this Nina and whole engagement/girlfriend thing. We all love you so much but this topic occupies way too much of our time. We need the truth. We will still love you. Amber

JOEY_MCINTYRE: No I am not engaged.. I promise you. You'll know when I'm engaged because I'll be happy to share it.

KIMBERLY: Joey- I saw you on Politically Incorrect, did you feel intimidated at all being on that show? I thought you did really well

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I didn't feel intimidated at all... because Bill Mahr runs a very good show and he's excellent at what he does.. the guests were really nice people so I wasn't really afraid to say what’s on my mind ..although I just couldn't figure out what was really on my mind.

TINARED: Joey, "Stay the Same" is fab. How do you write your music?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Different ways, sometimes its just an idea, a saying, or I can hear somebody say something...I was on the subway today and the conductor says "Stand clear of the closing doors" .. so to me I always feel this hip hop beat behind it and stand hear of the closin' doors... and I started making this whole song up in my head just out of that. Other times it’s more of a pure melody that just comes to mind.. but I think it’s important to stay open to all forms of inspiration whether it be a train conductor or a bird singing.

KELISUE72: Hi, Joe! Does your taste for Sinatra ever carry over into other aspects of your life? i.e. fashion, decor, etc.??? Ring-A-Ding-Ding, baby! See ya on New Years!!!

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I read a book called "The Way You Wear Your Hat: The Lost Art of Living" and it was all about Frank Sinatra down to how he folded separate kleenexes in his pocket.. and the other pocket would have matches.. and he was very meticulous with his whole get up...sometimes its fun when you're getting dressed and putting on a suit and dreamin' like you're Frank Sinatra.. so I guess I'd have to say but there's only one Frank... so we're only trying I guess.

DEREKANDKELLI: ASK JOEY IF HE HAS EVER CONSIDERED DOING A DUET WITH A FEMALE SINGER?? AND IF SO WHO?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I guess if it was anybody ... there's a lot of them....I like how Monica interprets her songs and how she sings... I think she's smooth but sensitive and vulernable at the same time and that’s what I like..when a singer can show her feelings through the music and not necessarily try to be the perfect singer.

SLIM_SHADY: Hey Joey, did u ever think of starting a clothing line or something that relates to u?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I’d only do that if I was really involved and I mean even if I was involved.. Lord knows what the clothes would look like because I'm kind of a lazy dresser...it gets tiring thinking about what you'll look like.. I don't get points in that area...some days I like to wear suits.. so maybe someday I'll have a suit line... its easy.. its classic.. and I feel good in them.

DISH_DIVA: Which designers do you like to wear?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: When I first got money from NKOTB I spent a lot of money on Armani.. and now I'm too cheap to spend that kind of money.. its just too expensive.. I can't justify ...I still love his clothes. I love a nice Versace suit.. it isn't gonna hurt ya. And the Gap.

KARIE: I was wondering what inspired you on his last song on the cd cause it was very dramatic.

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Yes, it is very dramatic and it draws different responses from people... I can see why they might look at me funny when they hear that song.

It was just a song that grew ... it was a song that I could let it all hang out...it was an acoustic song, a grand piano, a cello, a guitar solo...and I felt I had to go there and let it hang out...its the one song I produced by myself.. the first song I produced and that explains why it's a little bit all over the place.

JOES_VENUS: Hey Joey, How many pairs of leather pants do you have?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Two.. one black, one brown.

JOEY_FAN: Joey? If you could meet anybody, dead or alive, who wold it be, and why?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: That’s tough.... that's a tough one...Sinatra for a day but not for too long.. I don't think I could hang with him for too long.

TWETIEE: Would you ever think about changing your style of music? shanna, texas

JOEY_MCINTYRE: shanna... It's hard to say I have a style.. .I think my style comes in the way I perform my music and how I interpret my lyrics and perform them... I'm always going to change the style of music because I like all kinds and I hope my fans can hang in t here for the ride with me...its important for me to be creative and try new things.. so hopefully I'll be able to do that.

MOONBEAMS: Dearest Joe, do you enjoy playing any particular instrument...besides your gorgeous voice?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: No.. I really don't play any instruments.. I shouldn't even say I play piano a little bit but I could fake it for a few minutes and you might think I know how to play...it would be a real challenge for me to learn an instrument and I'd be proud of myself if I tried.. so hopefully I could that..I'd like to try to play the guitar.. I think its good for a performer to have an accessory if you will.. and I think it would help with my song writing as well.

JULIE: Do you find it easier to have friends that are in show business, or not? Can you relate to them better?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I don't really have a lot of friends in show business..as far as famous people....I don't know why.. I think its just coming from Boston.. maybe if I spent more time in New York or L.A... you see more people and hang out more. Being from Boston I have my own friends and they're not really in the music business..but it’s nice to meet someone down to earth in the business.. and you can get inspiration and a good vibe from them.

CHRISTINA2: Joe, do you regularly get on the internet and surf the web? What kinds of things do you look at?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I don't surf the web... but hopefully I can get out of the dark ages and get a little bit more computer literate.. but for now I don't have much time to do that..I guess you make time like any other activity.. I think people are into but I haven't gotten the bug yet.

CRYSTAL922: Joey I really love your music and "Stay the Same" means a lot to me How does it feel to drive around and here your song come on and know that so many people are singin' w/it?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Crystal, it's a great feeling when I first released "Stay the Same" in my hometown.. it was a special feeling to hear it on the radio and to know that your friends and family are listening too..and to get the reaction from the people in the gym or in your neighborhood.. that was really nice and really important..It’s a wild feeling and it’s kind of a one-in-a-million thing.. and I'll always remember those kind of feelings.

ONI: Hey there! What are your plans for next year, after you complete this tour, will you return to the studio? Can't wait for some new work!

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Oni, I hope so.. I hope so....you know I really want to concentrate and be focused and make a decision that that's something I want to do.. so hopefully I'll do that.

MISSKELLEY: Your music has given me the strength to go out there and make my dreams come true. My question is, do you have any advice for someone like me, who is trying her hardest to hone her musical skills and get into the music industry?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Misskelley, you have got to do it because you love it not because you want to make money or be famous...do it because its in your heart and if you don't do it you feel like you're empty inside..it's got to fill a natural void and if you have an open mind.. and not attach certain things to whether you're successful in it or not.. I think you'll be okay.

CRITICALTHINKER: Do you have a fan club where your fans can keep up with concert events and receive photos?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: We're working on it. For now just check in at the website http://www.joeymcintyre.com

july4thatEmbSteTorD: Do you ever get stage fright?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Not really... I mean I get excited and I get pumped up and I think that’s good...I'm really not afraid.. It’s a natural high that I really enjoy.

SANDY-KY: Joe(y) what is the greatest gift a fan ever gave you?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: sandy, I guess the gift of patience and understanding that as much as I enjoy what I do.. singing and performing and being a part of people's lives.. I do need my space and a lot of the fans have given me that space and that's important.

SUMMER: Hi Joe! Some people get cocky when they get a little fame. How do you stay grounded?- Barbara,LA

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Barbara, I guess because I've seen it all and usually the people who can't handle it are the people who've just seen a little bit of fame... the tip of the iceberg and they don't know how to deal with it...but this has happened to me at a very young age and I've been around a lot of fame and I know that life is about more than being famous and when you learn that it's a pretty simple problem.

APRILMAE: What do you do before each concert to get you ready?!? April Mae, NH

JOEY_MCINTYRE: April, I do some easy warm ups... I kind of make a humming sound with my voice.. I kind of chew on an "M" is what I do..I always do 25 push-ups right as the band starts playing and I come on stage...and that’s about it really.. and we always say a prayer before we go on.

DISH_DIVA: The pushups help you focus?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: It gets my wind up.. to do something physically is good for you mentally.. to help you focus.

LADYBUGIT: Where do you get your inspiration from?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Anything and everything .. obviously having tons of fans that are really inspired by the music you do .. and knowing that your music is there for people in whatever way they need it is something that keeps you going cuz there are plenty of days I wanna say I'm done and forget about it... but I think this is why I'm here.. this is the gift that God gave me and its up to me to use that in the best way.

KITTY3: joey do you have any pets and if you do what kind ?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: No

JOEYSGIRL_00: Joey, have u ever fell off the stage during a concert? Ashley,WI

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Ashley, I don't think so.. I'm sure I've come close but I don't think I have yet. I've fallen ON stage.. but I haven't fallen off stage.

KRISTYDIO: do u have any regrets about being a pop star?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Regrets? I've had a few.. but then again... too few to mention... <grin> Not really.. there's ups and downs to everything and knowing those limits I think you can find happiness in whatever you do.

RAFE: Are you excited for the new Millenium? What is your one wish?

JOEY_MCINTYRE: rafe, If I'm excited I don't want to rain on everybody's parade but the millennium is just another day so I don't think people should have a false hope that everything will be different and change...However, I know that the calendar year was based on the stars and the moon and has to do with the universe and that’s great.. but you still have to wake up January 1st and figure out what you're going to do with your life. My one wish is that the Y2K problem doesn't happen I guess.

DISH_DIVA: Joey, thanks so much for being our guest! It was a pleasure spending tonight with you! You are absolutely one of the nicest guys we've ever had in the Starloft! You are awesome!

JOEY_MCINTYRE: I can never say enough to let the fans know how much I feel about them... I just know if I keep doing good work they'll be there for me and support me and I hope we have a long healthy relationship.

DISH_DIVA: Foe more on Joey, visit his website at http://www.joeymcintyre.com

DISH_DIVA: Thanks and good night!

JOEY_MCINTYRE: Goodnight and thanks.
