I've built a few kites. My favorite (right now) is a large FlowForm. This is a soft kite (no sticks) that looks like one of those square parachutes. This kite is about 6 foot wide and has a real strong pull.
When the wind is stong I have a line ferry I run up the line and drop TeddyBears wearing parchutes from it.
