Historic Sermons.. Where the great awakening COMES ALIVE!
Why a web site dedicated to old sermons? Why the great awakening? Because we have this great cloud
of witnesses that we have left behind. As Psalm 78:7 states, "That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who
should arise and declare them to their children: That they might set
their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments." That the generations to come might know them! That is our goal that this
generation might learn of the wondrous works of God during the Great Awakening. What were the words spoken that God's Spirit used
to awaken a nation?
Now you can taste and see with historic sermon re-enactments. Not just a reading of a old sermon but an attempt
to re-enact that sermon, as perhaps the preacher might have first spoken it. George Whitefield is the perfect man to start with, as he preached with a passon
and fire that had never been seen before. He didn't just preach a sermon, he became the sermon he was preaching. Acting out the message as if it were a play.
More sermons will be coming from other Pastors of the Great Awakening, such as Jonathan Edwards, Samuel Davies and others. We also will be
available for live reenactments of George Whitefield's "The Method Grace." As one person said of the live reenactment, "It gave me chills."

Sermon Quote of the month/George Whitefield/Method of Grace
As God can send a nation or people no greater blessing than to give them faithful, sincere,
and upright ministers, so the greatest curse that God can possibly send upon a people in this world, is to
give them over to blind, unregenerate, carnal, lukewarm, and unskilled guides. And yet, in all ages, we
find that there have been many wolves in sheep"s clothing, many that daubed with untempered mortar, that
prophesied smoother things than God did allow. As it was formerly, so it is now; there are many that
corrupt the Word of God and deal deceitfully with it.
