The Song of Mikaela
cold air
through cracks in my window
always makes me remember
the warm breath crawls
up and down my back slowly
like a pensive spider
those eyes, orbs of darkness
reach in
to grasp my soul
that voice so deep, so over powering
still bounces off the walls
of my throbbing skull
the hand on my shoulder
fingers like stone
hold me firm in my fear
a wall of soft blackness
raven wings like Death's own cloak
encase me in night
piercing pain ignites my nerves
my life leaves me
an undamned river
falling...falling into the arms of sleep
I know that this time
I will not wake again
"my deed is done" he says sarcastically
a car salesman
selling his bitterest lemon
in the fetal position
my eyes open on the first night
of my eternity of servitude to him
for all time I will pay the debt
for a decision made in a hurried
desperate moment
penalized for my innocence
that always made you so proud
to love me
will I ever forgive you
or forget the night
you placed my soul in his hands
as long as the chill hangs on the wind
I will always remember
another stream of tears into the ocean of eternal sorrow
