FRIENDS

Friends are people who stay with you,
Whether you're on the top or on the bottom.
Friends are people you stay with,
Whether they're on the top or on the bottom.

LINDA

Linda lives by the morning sea
And sings to the morning tide
Of the man for whom she longs
To have once more by her side.

ON POETRY

A poem need not be long,
Though some go on and on.
And others such as this one,
May be already gone.

HEAVY

A scientist asks why
An artist why not.
A fool remembers
What a wise man forgot.

CITY

City dressed in the shroud of night,
What are you like when the day is light?
When thousands of people are moving around,
Why do they hide when the sun goes down?

SIGHT

Of what importance is vision,
Of what importance to me.
Of what importance is vision,
This I can not see.

COLUMBUS

Columbus said the world was round
Instead of being flat.
But he wasn't all that smart
'Cause even I know that.

POETRY

If I had any brains I'd spend my time,
Doing something better than making rhymes.
If you too had brains then I think it's quite clear,
You wouldn't have time for what's written here.

HAIL CAESER

"Gallia est divisa in partes tres",
Thus Julius Caesar once said.
But it didn't do him any good,
Because (Et Tu Brute?) he's dead.

GLOBAL IDEAS

Men used to think the world was flat
As the map upon the wall.
But I'm much smarter cause I know
It's a metal ball.

SMORGASBORD

I've heard that smorgasbord is fun
And a very healthy diet.
I wonder if it works with girls
I'd really like to try it.

HER

She comes upon the morning's dawn
And leaves with the ending day.
Many a man has set traps for her
Yet she always gets away.

MARY

May I always see your face
As I see it now.
Rimmed with hair of golden brown
Yielding to no man.

TIME (PART II)

Yesterday, tomorrow, today.
The right way, the wrong way, THE way.
To talk, to hint, not to say.
Yesterday, tomorrow, today.

PEOPLE

People do talk
And people do see.
And one thing they all do
Is gripe about me.
Return to index

FEAR

Fear brings about philosophies,
The means are judged by the ends.
Fear makes friends of enemies,
And enemies of friends.
Return to index

MAMA

When I was young
Mama was everything.
She even wore my friendship ring.
But she was more than just my pal.
She was daddy's only gal.
Return to index

SILENCE

Silence is a winter's night,
When not a wind exists.
Silence is a mind at rest,
Under sleep's light mist.
Return to index

HAPPINESS

Happiness is - remember the game
We played when we were small.
Well I don't know what happiness is
But I'm happy after all.
Return to index

BABY

Baby safe in a mother's womb
What do you think about?
Are you happy there inside
Or just fearing to come out?
Return to index

SMILE

Smile my friend
Tomorrow's a brand new day.
It won't be any better
But smile anyway.
Return to index

WISHES

I wish I were some miles away,
From where I've ever been.
I wish I had a kingdom,
To trade for one true friend.
Return to index

COMING OR GOING

Coming is hard
New people to meet.
Going is even
A more difficult feat.
