My lady~Cinderella,
I know those poems are from your soul,
the words inside your heart,
I wish I read them earlier before,
I was a fool not to start.
I read each one about us,
about you and how you feel.
I'm a fool to have doubted sometimes.
A fool to not believe.
I know just as I say this
my true feelings have been unmasked,
that I wish to spend my days with you.
And that our hopes and dreams can last.
I love you each and every morn
as I awake upon my bed.
And that I prayed you felt the same way
no matter where our paths before have led.
As I sat and read the words aloud,
the secrets that you've kept,
my heart ached inside me and in my hands I wept.
But never with the sorrow that so many tears are shed,
my eyes let me know without a word the love within instead.
I've never doubted the way you felt
but in my own heart I was unsure,
I needed to see inside myself
to know that you could be there.
I searched too deep I realize,
that sometimes I’ve looked too far.
But when it comes to my love for you
it's always above us in the stars.
I thank you dear, sweet angel
for giving me the chance.
To let me be a part of your life,
for saving me this dance.
Thank you for the gift of words
in our hearts and even in our souls we say.
That through the gift of your own poems
our love will always remain.
