Upon our first meeting
Your tiptoed entrance into my life was
Quiet, gentle and unassuming
Stepping to one side
You made known your intention
Of waiting for invitation and greeting.
And at the appointed time you brought with you
The gentleness of life itself
That portion which seeks to bring peace
To all occassions.
With your person you garnished
The edges of my heart
With ribbons of laughter
And muted the sting of sorrows that
Sometimes solicits the soul.
Come, step into the light
Let me see the transparency of your soul
Twirl around the events of your journey
That made you the choice of God's endeavor.
But also stand still long enough
For life's hand to add yet another metal
To your breast
That touts softly the addition of grandeur
To those who pause long enough to hold your hand
Finding life broadcasts beautiful rainbows
For those who take time to be with you.
Be eager to take a step backward
To simply remember the why of you
The coming together of all things
That made you, you.
And don't hestitate to come closer
Not because of who I am
But because you've found addition to yourself
Upon choosing to touch another life.
I greet you and bid you welcome
Into my life and breath
So that I, too, feel the trasparency of my soul
Freed to skip and dance to the awakened song within me.
Knowing life offers most when lived
Next to an angel whom God has chosen
To make life blossom
For those not knowing what life has to offer
Until love enters their heart
And explores what was meant
To reside there all along.
So, let us celebrate together
Partnering the separateness of our lives
Giving birth from our union
The trumpet of joy held aloft
By the careful hand of the Minstrel Man
Dancing just ahead
Bidding us both invitation
To make life all that God intends.
