They call themselves the panthers,
But a Dragon I wish they'd be.
Both are tough and Ferocious,
But a Dragon means more to me.
One is sleek and furry,
The other shingled and rough.
Puffy pads and cat-like nails,
Jagged claws pointed and tough.
Captured and Penned looking docile,
A panther you might find in a zoo,
Soaring up high or just hiding,
A Dragon will most likely find you.
In my fantasies my friends are not panthers,
I don't conjure them up in my head.
But instead I find all my courage,
In the Dragons who stand guard over my bed.
