Out of the silence, it disturbs everything
Killing the serenity that existed before
The first flash fills the sky with light
Followed soon after by the explosive thunder
I look towards the sky, and see another
The sky is carved by thin, mighty fingers
The booming sound accenting the emotion
The first drops of rain hit my face gently
Saving me from the scalding heat of the day
More rumbling travels from the south-east
Calming my mind, and putting my body at ease
The lightning washes over my body for a second
Emptying my mind of all stress and thought
Rumbling travels up my legs, and through my body
Shaking free all my inhibitions and worries
I stretch out my arms to absorb it all
My fingers run through the static electricity
Rain soaks my body as I look into the sky
I am at peace with myself and the storm
As the bolts of fire fill the darkened sky
Reaching into the sky, I wish to feel it
I want to experience the intense emotion
The thrilling tension that surrounds me
Screaming at the storm, I dare it to strike
The clouds swirl in between flashes of light
I feel the tension in the air getting tighter
The hairs on my neck stand out from my body
I feel the surge of energy start at my feet
Moving up through my entire body quickly
Electricity coarses through my veins
The power inside my body overwelms me
I look to the sky and watch it happen
Lightning is thrown out my arms into the heavens
I hear the crack as it shoots skyward
As quickly as it happened, it's over
My body becomes limp as I fall to the ground
Looking up, the storm continues to the north
I close my eyes to the falling rain
And the world slowly fades into nothing
