Me Me Me

Greetings, Earthlings! My name is Sarah Elder, and this is my homepage. You have chosen to read about me. Here goes...

I’m fifteen years old, fifteen and a half, actually. My birthday’s on December 12. Read about my family here. I’m a sophomore at Oak Hills High School outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, where I’m part of a very close group of friends. So far, school seems pretty cool. I’m in band, which is fun at times and not fun at times. The practices are awful, but the game was pretty cool (we won the first one!).
I hate the question: do you have a hobby? The answer is no, I do not have a hobby. I just have stuff I like to do. My favorite thing to do is probably relaxing. It’s something I’m getting to do less and less, which makes me enjoy it more and more. I love writing (and have a propensity toward babbling). I wrote a 91 page Star Trek novel for my friend Leah. I’m currently writing my second such major work, a 300+ page story about the life of two people. I’m planning on spanning about 70 years. So far I’ve got 13 years down, 57 to go. I type everything. If you saw my handwriting, you’d understand why. I also like music. I play the clarinet, the bassoon (don’t worry—you’re not the only one who doesn’t know what it is), and a bit of piano. I play each in different situations. Clarinet is for marching band. Bassoon is for concert band, orchestra, and private lessons. Piano is just for fun. I also like listening to music, something I didn’t really do regularly until this summer. I’m not really into alternative in general. I have nothing against it. It’s just not my type of thing. I like Hanson. (If you do, too, check out the best Hanson page on the web. Other groups I like… the Wallflowers, Third Eye Blind, Celine Dion (if I’m feeling passive), and whoever sings the song "Desperately Wanting." My favorite song (right now) is "A Minute Without You" by Hanson. For any Hanson-haters who might be reading this, it sounds very little like MMMBop and Where’s The Love. It’s totally different, and it’s great. I also like computers, mostly because I type on my computer. I’ve really gotten into e-mail and the internet over the summer (as you may be able to tell by this page). It’s fun, but I know I won’t be able to do it as much during the summer. I’m a member of Jazzy Planet as you may have seen on the opening page. But the excitement doesn’t end there, folks. I’m also the reporter for Jazzy Planet. Check out my articles. Oh, yeah! I’m on ICQ, too. It’s really great. I’ll try to get a link up soon. My UIN is 2488160 if you want to contact me that way. I also like to read. Right now I’m reading "Family Pictures" by Sue Miller. It’s pretty good. It’s my type of story. I’m also into sci-fi stories, mostly Star Trek, though. That brings me to television. I’m a television junkie (when I have time). To say otherwise would be a total lie. Television is fun. I do my homework, I do well in school. As far as I’m concerned, there’s nothing wrong with watching television. I’m still active and fit. Television is just dandy. Picking a favorite show is kind of tough. Trek in general. I also really like Mad About You. It’s a great show. My big show of the summer was Home and Family on the Family Channel. It’s the type of show that looks like it would be tremendous fun to be on. Just a bunch of people being goofy and making neat stuff. It was good summer loafing material. I don’t make it to the movies too often, mostly because it costs too much. The only two movies I saw in the theater this summer were "My Best Friend’s Wedding" (which I really liked) and "Contact." "Contact" was good, but I preferred the book. I’m really into space. I like space. I like the stars. It’s all very fascinating. Being a radio astronomer is one of the few career paths I can actual see myself taking, another being medicine. Another thing I enjoy doing is playing sports. I will play any sport that involves running around, as long as it’s fun. I really love basketball. I like watching it and playing. I also like playing soccer and swimming. I rollerblade sometimes, but I’m definitely not the skater type (if you couldn’t tell already).
I guess that’s about all you need to know (or want to know, for that matter). My interests change fairly regularly, so this may or may not be updated. Only time will tell...
