These babies hatched near the middle of August 2004. So cute!

Ebony starting sitting on eggs and the next thing we know, 2 days later, ANOTHER hen starts sitting (who I named Scroogey). Both hens went broody on about 12 eggs and they all hatched out to be black babies. Below are the moms when they went broody around March 2004.

The day the black hen decided to set. (<-- could be a book title haha)

BOTH trying to share the nest of eggs. Ebony II and Scroogey. haha. We have never had this happen before. It was a shocking sight. We have now moved them into to different nests.

Chickens that are "trying to think of names for the new chicks". They looked away when my dad took a picture because they were guilty! haha.

Just wanted to add this picture in here. My mom got me this chicken shirt for Christmas!

One of our old roosters, Dragon.

Two "twins". Named Twin 1, Twin 2

White hen with mustache. This is Marilyn, older!

Muhammed all grown up!

My dad and I drove to Lebanon, Missouri (which is about an hour from my house) and picked up some chicks (Around May 2003). We ended up getting 25 bantam chicks. We got a variety of many breeds- so we will have to see how they all turn out. Named them Muhammad, Rogue, Uno, Topaz, Kitty, Corra, Paris, Helen of Troy, Chicken Little, Blue, Marilyn, and Gotham.

This chick is the one named Muhammand. He looks so much like a boxer! An odd thing for a baby chick to look like, but he does. So I named him after Muhammand Ali.

Kitty is the chick in the middle. Blue is the one looking down next to her.

I took this picture to show as an example that the heat wasn't warm enough. If your chicks are doing this, then you need to lower your lamp or increase heat. Don't worry- my chicks are warm now. This was only at first.
