Year 2005 Chickens

These chickens we had a couple years ago, we got them all as chicks from Cackle Hatchery in Lebanon, Missouri. Click on the thumbnails of the pictures below to see them up close!

A little black hen who looks almost bald. So I named her Baldy.

I'm holding Zadi. She is very sweet. She gets really excited when you come up to the cage because she wants her bread.

A group of conspiring chickens caught in the act of planning!

Peek-A-Boo

Two for the price of one. They are about to go in another section of the coop.

Ah ha! They figured out how to open the door to the coop. Their plan must have worked.

Rolaid trying out her skills of mind reading on the camera.

Here is a look at the coop/cage they are going to be keep in. We hate to cage them, but the hawks around us are unstoppable! We let them out during the days when we are home.

Cinder gives me the eye.

A couple hens curious about the camara.

A red hen drinking happily.

I could take the pictures without the chicken wire, but I like seeing them peer through like this picture of Ewok.

Sparkly giving her wings some exercise.

Sparkle sitting pretty.

Another unnamed red hen trying to manuever around Curly.

Our only white chicken. Which might be the reason she is so skiddish?
