The following is a list of colors followed by their magickal correspondences (with candles) and what it means as someone's aura.

Black: is the appropriate color for candles used in uncrossing rituals and spells designed to banish negativity or conjure spirits of the dead. Black is the traditional color used in necromantic divination.

Blue: is the apprpriate color for candles used in the following types of magick: astral projection, spells and rituals that involve honor, loyalty, peace, tranquillity, truth, and wisdom. Burn blue candles for protection during sleep (especially against nightmares). They can also assist in inducing dreams of a prophetic nature when anointed with oil containing powdered mugwort, and burned prior to bedtime.

An aura that appears blue or blue combined with green indicates good health and/or the overcoming of personal karmic patterns from previous incarnations.


Brown: is the appropriate color for candles used in spells to find misplaced objects and improve the powers of concentration and telepathy. Spells involving persons born under the astrological sign of Capricorn will be more potent if brown candles are used. These are also the candle colors traditionally used by many modern Witches in spells and rituals designed for protection of familiars and household pets.

Gold: is the appropriate color for candles used in the following types of magick: spells that attract the power of cosmic influences and rituals performed in honor of solar deities.

An aura that appears as light gold-colored indicates a spiritual and highly evolved soul that has lived many lifetimes and is now in its final incarnation on this plane of existence.

Gray: is the appropriate color for candles in spells to neutralize negative influences.

It is perhaps the least favorable color to be seen in an aura reading, for gray auras usually emanate from persons who are in the final stages of a terminal illness or those who are destined to soon die by accident, suicide, or at the hands of another.

Green: is the appropriate color for candles used in the following types of magick: spells involving fertility, success, good luck, prosperity, money matters, rejuvenation and ambition, rituals to counteract greed and jealousy, and spells involving persons born under the astrological sign of Taurus.

When the color green or green combined with blue is observed in a person's aura, it is said to be an indication of good health and the overcoming of personal karmic patterns from past lives.

Orange: is the appropriate color for candles used in spells to stimulate energy.

An aura that appears orange-colored indicates the presence of confusion as well as a constantly changing nature.

Pink: is the appropriate color for candles used in love spells and rituals involving friendship and youthful femininity.


Purple: is the appropriate color for candles used in the following types of magick: psychic manifestations, healings, and spells involving power, success, independence, and household protection.

When the color purple is present in an aura, it indicates that a material and/or spiritual healing is taking place. If a person's aura is a light shade of purple or lavender, it indicates that he or she possesses the natural ability to heal others. (This ability may or not be known to the person att he time of the aura reading.)


Red: is the appropriate color for candles used in the following types of magick: fertility rites, spells involving sexual passion, love, health, physical strength, revenge, anger, willpower, and courage. Spells involving persons born under the astrological sign of Aries or Scorpio will be more potent if red candles are used.

A completely red aura is believed to indicate an individual's deteriorating health or the presence of disease. The brighter the shade of red appears in an aura, the greater the likelihood of serious health problems.


Silver: is the appropriate color for candles used in spells and rituals to rmeove negativity, encourage stability, and attract the influence of the Goddess. Lunar spellwork and magick involving persons born under the astrological sign of Gemini or Cancer also call for silver candles.

White: is the appropriate color for candles used in the following types of magick: consecration rituals, meditation work, divinations, exorcisms, and spells dealing with all forms of healing, clairvoyance, truth, peace, spiritual strength, and lunar energy.

A white aura, like a gold-colored one, indicates a spiritual and highly evolved soul that has lived many lifetimes and is now in it's final incarnation on this plane of existence.


Yellow: is the appropriate color for candles used in spells that involve attraction, charm, confidence, and persuasion. Like gold, it can also serve for magick and rituals involving solar energies, and deities associated with the sun. Spells involving persons born under the astrological sign of Gemini or Leo are more potent when yellow candles are used.

A yellow aura indicates freedom of self expression, and affirmative answers to specific problems facing the person with the aura. However, yellow combined with red indicates confusion and is constantly changing nature.
