I Dreamt Somebody Loved Me
I DREAMT SOMEBODY LOVED ME
I dreamt somebody loved me,
they told me I was special.
Until I awoke and realized,
I was alone once more.
I came to school still dreaming.
then I was forced awake.
I had to realize I'm still alone,
I'm not as good, I am a fake.
They told me I deserved the best,
that I was good enough to be.
But I was only forced to see again,
that my friend was better than me.
I try to convince myself that's wrong.
That's she's only good in their shadow.
Her sisters paved the way,
but now it doesn't matter.
Forever lost and wandering,
underneath everyone else.
Someday I'll be special.
Even if I have to be by myself.
I dreamt somebody loved me,
they told me I was special.
Until I awoke and realized,
I was alone once more.
