Holy Days or Holidays
If you look at the origin of the word "holiday", it comes from the
words holy and day. Therefore, there is not really a difference between
the meanings of the two, holy days and holidays. But I am going to use
them differently for clarity's sake. When I say holydays, I will be
refering to the commanded feasts in the Bible. When I use holidays, I
will be speaking of the days celebated by Christendom today. This is
not to say that one word is better than the other, but rather to
make a difference, a seperation if you will, to differentiate between them.
Having gotten this far, you know that I do celebrate the feasts in the
Bible, so I am not going to argue the case for whether or not to
observe the commanded feasts of G-d but rather how I celebrate them.
Holidays
My intention is not to offend my christian friends or imply changes
they should make. I am not the Holy Spirit or their conscience. I
simply want to explain why I do not celebrate these holidays and let
them decide for themselves if this information has any merit in their
lives.
