Whats Happening Here In Brant
The passing of Bill 160 has brought some changes to our schools in Brant County. Most of the changes won't be really apparent till September. Some of the things that are already happening are listed below. If there is something happening in your child's school that could be added please feel free to e-mail me.
1) The provincial government recently announced that the core French program from grades 1 through 3 will no longer be available.
2) The number of principals returning to the classroom instead of remaining in their principal positions is quite high. Which leads me to wonder exactly who will be in our schools in the "principal teacher" capacity. A local principal mentioned to me recently that the principal courses offered in the summer months are literally empty, with no-one interested in their careers heading in that direction.
3) Recently well over 100 teachers in Brantford received layoff notices Expositor Article
