Homestead Seed Bank for 1999


Each year we offer fresh hosta seed selected from
over 1600 varieties.  The seed is carefully cleaned 
and refrigerated.


Many of our customers have successfully started
seed early under glass or even under growing lights.  
Many interesting varieties can be obtained by sowing 
seeds outside either in flats or a carefully prepared 
bed once the weather has warmed up.  


For those who need quantities of hostas for ground 
cover and mass plantings this is an inexpensive method.  
Also a number of choice hybrids have resulted from
seedling selection.


Each packet of our seed contains 25-150 seeds depending
on the availability or if a special type.  Fresh seed 
are available January 1 through June 1.


In most cases we have ample supply, however many of
the Specials are limited.  Therefore, you must list any
possible substitutions that you may want.  If none are 
listed we will choose varieties for you.  ORDER BY
NUMBER ONLY!!!  Please do not request any more than 
two of any single variety per order.  There is a minimum
of $10.00 per order sent.  To cover shipping and handling
U.S. and Canadian customers add $2.00 for up to 
24 packets.  Foreign customers add $5.00.  Any 
orders over 24 packets add an additional $1.00


All payments must be in U.S. dollars.  Make checks
payable to Homestead Division.  Sowing instructions
are included with each order.  Store in freezer prior to
sowing.
