"Are you hungry?" Andrew asked

"A bit, I could use a sandwich, a glass of milk and maybe a piece of pie."

"Colleen I do believe you've got your appetite back." He laugh "I'll go get your food, you stay here and rest."

Andrew got up and left for the kitchen car. The conductor walked by, Colleen asked him how much longer until they reached Colorado Springs.

"An other four hours ma'am."

"Thank you."

Andrew came back with the food.

"Here you go, all the food you can eat."

"Thank you Andrew four more hours and we'll be home for the rest of our lives, remember you promised me a house, I hope you plan to start building when we get there."

"Don't worry Colleen Matthew has dug out the root cellar and I've made the plans."

"Andrew I'm aloud to worry this child is due in a month,"

"Yes Colleen you will have your house."

Michaela, Sully, Matthew, Brian and Katie were waiting at the train station. In a few minutes the train pulled in. Colleen and Andrew were the first off the train.

"Colleen! Andrew!" Brian called out.

"Ma, Sully, Matthew, Brian!"

Colleen rushed over to see her family. Katie let go of Sully's hand and ran over to her sister.

"'leen, 'leen." Katie gave Colleen a hug.

"Katie look how big you've gotten."

Sully came over and picked up Katie.

"Grace is making fried chicken today, we're going to eat there for dinner is that all right with you, Colleen."

"Brian that's fine with me, Andrew?"

"That's fine with me too lets head over there now."

The whole family walked over to Grace's Café. When they got there Grace showed them to a table.

"So what will you folks have?" Grace asked

"Grace will all have your delicious fried chicken." Colleen said.

Colleen's due date was a week away. The house was almost finished, Matthew and Andrew were working on the roof.

"Andrew, Matthew, I made sandwiches, come down and eat."

"In a minute Colleen, we're almost done here." Replied Andrew.

"I'll leave them right here." Just then a pain griped Colleen and she fell down into the nearest chair. Matthew saw her fall and asked if she was all right.

"Matthew I'm fine, now you two come down and eat your lunch.

Matthew and Andrew climbed down the ladder and walked over to the table and started to eat.

"Colleen we're almost done the roof one more day and it will be finished."

"I hope so, I don't know how much longer before I explode."

"Colleen don't worry so much the roof will be done when our baby is born and besides you still have a week left."

Matthew and Andrew had finished eating and were making their way back up to the roof to finished the job.

Michaela was going through Katie's old stuff trying to figure out what Colleen could use.

"Brian come here, what would your sister want? Never mind Brian we're going to town."

"Ok ma, I'll go hitch up the wagon." Brian left for the barn.

Michaela handed Katie up to Brian then she climbed up into the seat grabbed the reins and they were on their way to town.

Andrew and Matthew had finished the roof, Matthew was helping Andrew and Colleen unpack the last of their belongings.

"Andrew, Matthew you did a beautiful j..." The same pain Colleen had felt outside came again. "Andrew take me to the bedroom."

"Colleen?"

"Andrew the baby is coming NOW."

Andrew helped Colleen to the bedroom and into bed. Matthew was out the door running back to the homestead for Dr. Mike. Andrew was trying to make Colleen more comfortable when she grabbed his hand and squeezed it so hard his thumb turned purple.

Matthew had reached the homestead.

"Dr. Mike! Sully!"

Sully came down the stairs.

"Matthew she went into town to buy Colleen something. What's wrong?"

"Colleen's havin' the baby."

"Matthew she should be at the store you go get and I'll go to Colleen's and Andrew's house."

Matthew saddled one of the horses and rode into town. Sully saddled the last horse and rode off to the Cook residence.

Michaela was at the store looking as fabric for a winter blanket.

"Loren do you have any of this kind of fabric in light blue."

"Let me check Dr. Mike." Loren went into the storeroom.

Just then Matthew came into the store.

"Dr. Mike Colleen's having the baby!"

"Brian, take Katie over to Grace's and stay there until your pa comes and gets you two."

"Yes'm, come on Katie lets go see Aunt Grace. Matthew helped Michaela into the wagon and he tied the horse behind the wagon.

Sully arrived at the Cook house.

"Andrew how is she?"

"She fine but look at my thumb, it's purple."

"Andrew when Katie was born Michaela almost ripped my face off."

"Really" Andrew laughed a bit.

"Andrew!!." Colleen yelled from the bedroom.

"Well duty calls, Sully could you get some cloths."

Andrew ran to the bedroom and Sully went looking for the linen closet.

The wagon pulled in front of the door and Michaela jumped down from the wagon. Michaela ran into the house, Sully only saw her for a second.

"Micha...." was all he could get out and she was gone. Matthew came in and Sully asked where the linen closet was.

"Oh it's over by the second room."

"Thank you Matthew."

"Oh and you have to go and pick up Brian and Katie at Grace's that where Dr. Mike sent them."

Matthew hadn't heard anything from Colleen or anyone else for atleast twenty minutes. Sully had gone to pick Brian and Katie. Andrew walked out.

"Andrew what's wrong?"

"Nothing, she kicked me out, it's not proper for the father to be in the delivery room."

Matthew laughed a bit. Andrew sat down in one of the big comfy chairs. They heard Colleen scream, two slaps and the cries of a baby, Andrew and Matthew jumped out from where they were sitting. Michaela come out.

"Andrew you have twin girls." she said gleefully.

"Can I see her now?"

"Yes Andrew go and see them."

Andrew walked into the bedroom. Colleen was sitting up holding her twins, Andrew sat down beside her.

"Andrew we need names for these two little ones." said a weak Colleen. "Andrew I would like for the oldest to be named Alaina, now Andrew you chose."

Andrew thought about it for awhile

"I've always liked the name Lydia."

Andrew walked out with his girls and announced their names

"Everyone meet Alaina and Lydia."
