July 1999 Cheviot, Ohio (Issued Monthly) Issue
From the President Jerry Biederman
We were gratified with the good turnout at July's picnic meeting. Our special thanks go to Dick Kruse and his crew for the excellent job they did preparing the meal.
Let's now get ready for our walk/run event to be held Sunday September 26th. We will need all kinds of volunteers to help with this happening. Please step up when we ask for assistants!
Last but certainly not least, let me welcome all the new sport members to our organization! We have regular monthly meetings every third Monday at 8:00 P.M. at our headquarters, 3706 Glenmore Ave. Please feel free to join us. Our next meeting will be on August 16th.
Hall Rental Jim Morganroth, Chairman
We have two hall rentals coming up. Please continue to spread the word about our hall.

The club extends its sympathy to Bob Stoll on the passing of his wife June.
Gold Card Member Ken Hermann also passed. Most members remember Ken as a baseball coach from 1964-1989. He was a patient and dedicated coach and as such touched the lives of countless number of children and adults in our community.
Milt Simminger is feeling better. Art McCue thanks the club for the loan of the wheel chair.
Kitchen Dick Kruse, Chairman
The meal for August's meeting will be fried chicken and potato salad. Everyone is welcome!
Athletics Gordon Smyth, Chairman
Baseball season is quickly coming to an end. The D-middle division team (eight year old boys) coached by Mike Schiffmeyer finished the year with a 9-1-2 record. The team is currently competing in the Bridgetown Baseball/Time Warner Cable baseball tournament at Dulles Elementary School.
The Harry Espleage award this year for the D-middle baseball team was earned by Tyler Eve. Tyler was a first year ball player this season. He has a lot of natural ability; listens well, hustles every play and demonstrates great teamwork. Most importantly, Tyler shows respect not only for his coaches but also for his teammates and himself.
From all of us at C.P.A., congratulations Tyler. Keep up the great work!
The fall 1999 soccer season has officially started. Our first games will take place on August 28th/29th.
Our Girl Seniors team, ages 16-19 is still looking for players. We are working with Western Hills High School to form this team. If any girl in the age group wants to join in for a fun activity this season, even if it's been a while since you last strapped on a pair of cleats and shin guards, please contact Lou Winston at 347-0589 or Gordon Smyth at 481-2031.
Similarly, any girl aged 14-15 looking to play on our Girl Minors Team is also encouraged to call either Lou or Gordon.
Oldy's But Goody's Bob Moore, President
We had a nice party last month and hope to see all of our Oldy But Goody friends at our August meeting, 12:30 P.M., August 27th at headquarters.
