Nov. 1999 Cheviot, Ohio (Issued Monthly) Issue 505
From the President Jerry Biederman
We kicked off the busy holiday season on November 6th with our annual Turkey Raffle. The crowd was excellent and the turkey must have been good also. Over 100 pounds of bird was consumed in slightly more than one hour!
Thanks to everyone who helped. Special thanks to Jerry Niebling and Ron Marcum for making sure I did my job (whatever that was). Final financial results will be forthcoming.
As we move through the holidays, take some time to be with friends and family. Our annual children' Christmas Party will be Sunday December 12th at headquarters. Doors open at 1 P.M.; the party starts at 2 P.M. Admission is free for members' children, grandchildren, etc. Gifts, entertainment and Santa are all part of the program.
Our December Regular meeting is Monday December 20th. Plan to attend and share some time with our C.P.A. Friends.
While we are on the subject of meetings, we have a number of opportunities available for members to fill officer and governor positions within our organization. Give yourself a fresh approach to C.P.A. activities and help guide our club into the next millennium.
Anyone interested in running for office may contact me or any officer or board member. Without your help, a lot of soccer players, baseball players, Easter egg hunters, hospital equipment users, members, spouses and the general community may be missing some great new ideas! Come on, volunteer - the pay is minimal but the rewards are priceless!
In Touch Ken Casey, Chairman
We wish a speedy and complete recovery to Gold Card Members Milt Simminger and Ray Wagner.

Athletics Gordon Smyth, Chairman
First I would like to thank the Cheviot Police Association's hospital equipment committee for providing a wheel chair for an injured player on my women's CRC soccer team. It is really coming in handy.
This year we had four teams qualify for the WCBM tournament! This means that the team finished in the upper half of their respective divisions.
The C.P.A. Boys Passers team coached by Dave Janson, Paul Garrison and Brian Bloch took second place at the TCYO post-season tournament! Congratulations and good job!
Congratulations to all of our soccer players and coaches for an exciting and fun-filled season. We hope to see all of you at our soccer sign-ups next March.
Speaking of sign-ups, our baseball enrollment will occur after the first of the year. Call Gordon Smyth at 481-2031 or Jay Essel at 598-1198 for more details.
We are pleased to announce the winners of the Harry Espelage Award for the Fall 1999 Soccer Season:
Finally, we would like to extend a special note of appreciation to the Gooch family who set up and ran special games for our children at this year's turkey raffle. Catherine and Emily Gooch both participated in our soccer program this year.
