From the President Jerry Biederman

Our busiest time of the year is winding down. By the time you receive this news letter, the Year 2000 version of our Annual Turkey Raffle will be history. The C.P.A/ 5k Run/Walk is in the record books.

We now turn our attention to our Children's Christmas Party. This year it is scheduled for Sunday December 10th at 2:00 P.M. at C.P.A. Headquarters. Registration will begin at 1:00 P.M.

Speaking of record books, I understand that soccer season is winding down. Once again we have been fortunate to be well represented by our C.P.A. coaches and players at all levels. Congratulations to Coach/Athletic Director Gordon Smyth and all the C.P.A. players and coaches. Soccer banquets will be held on the weekends of November 10th and 17th.

In other news, we installed two new members at the regular meeting in October. That makes four new members in two months! We welcome Scott Carpenter and Tim Brossart. Scott is very active in our soccer program; Tim is active at our Easter Egg Hunt and other activities. All of our new members will prove to be a great asset to the organization.

How about our new design for the newsletter? Good job Lou! Anyone with comments or suggestions, please forward them to Lou or me.

Thanks to Jerry Niebling for stepping in and keeping our Hall Rental program going after the resignation of Jim Morganroth as chairman. I have not asked if this is temporary or permanent but he is on a streak. Thanks Jerry!

Finally, mark your calendars. Our next regular meeting is Monday, November 20th at 8:00 P.M. We hope to see you all there. HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Intouch

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Regular Member Robert Murray.

Membership

We are very pleased to welcome Leslie Maret, Chad Specht, Scott Carpenter and Tim Brossart as regular members to our club. These four gentlemen will prove to be a great asset to our organization!

We are currently trying to contact all regular members and invite them back to our club. If no response is received, they will be dropped from the membership roles.

Attendance Prize Awarded -- Finally

We finally had a winner of the monthly attendance prize. Joe Beck walked away from the October monthly meeting $50 richer! Congratulations Joe!

Speaking of winners, Ed Ostholhoff won the $30 Split-the-Pot prize at the October meeting.

The October winners of the C.P.A. 400 were:

Athletics Gordon Smyth

We are very pleased to learn that of the nine soccer teams wearing the C.P.A. blue jersey this year, seven qualified to play in the qualifying round of the WCBM tournament. A special congratulations to the Girls Passers team coached by Gordon Smyth, Tammy Eubanks and Jim Williams. This team finished the year UNDEFEATED! Good luck to them and all of our teams in tournament play.

Now that soccer season is just about over, it's time to switch gears and think about baseball! Sign-ups will start just after the first of the year -- further details will be published as they become available.

In the meantime, a suggestion was presented by one of our coaches to consider construction of a batting cage for the use of our teams. What do you think? Would you like to see it come to pass? Attend a meeting and let's hear from you!

Just for Fun Happy Thanksgiving !
