This Chair Set can be made with the following:

3 balls White and 1 ball each, Shaded Purples (for Grapes), or Tinted Lavender and Yellow (for Pansies) and Forest Green or Evergreen. Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.

Chair Back measures about 11 1/2" X 16 1/2".
Arm Rests measure about 7 1/2" X 10".

LEAF FOR GRAPES:  With Green, ch 9, sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each of next 6 sts of ch, 3 sc in last st of ch, work on opposite side of ch, 1 sc in each of next 5 sts, ch 3, turn, picking up the back loop of sts only throughout, 1 sc in each of next 6 sc, 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 5 sc, work 2 more sections, sew the rounded points of the three sections together.  Work 5 more leaves in same manner.

GRAPES FOR RIGHT-HANDED PANEL:  With Shaded Purples ch 10, 3 dc in 4th st from hook, sl loop off hook, insert in first st of ch, pull loop through, * ch 2, sk next 2 sts of ch, popcorn st in next st (popcorn st:  4 dc in same sp, drop loop from hook, insert in first dc, pull loop through), repeat from * once, ch 3, turn.

2nd row:  Sl st in first popcorn st, * ch 2, sl st in next loop, ch 2, sl st in same sp, repeat from * once, turn.

3rd row:  Ch 3 (always counts as part of first popcorn st), 3 dc in first loop, drop loop from hook, insert in third loop of ch, pull loop through, * ch 2, popcorn st in next loop, repeat from * 3 times, ch 3, turn.

4th row:  Sl st in first loop, * ch 2, sl st in next loop, repeat from * twice, turn.

5th row:  Ch 3, popcorn st in first loop, * ch 2, popcorn st in next loop, repeat from * once, ch 3, turn.

6th row:  Sl st in first loop, ch 2, sl st in next loop, turn.

7th row:  Ch 3, popcorn st in first loop, ch 2, popcorn st in next loop, ch 3, turn.

8th row:  Sl st in loop, turn.

9th row:  Ch 3, popcorn st in first loop, cut thread.

Work 2 more bunches in same manner.

GRAPES FOR LEFT-HANDED PANEL:  Work first 3 rows in same manner as grapes for right panel, reverse the shaping.

4th row:  Sk 1 loop, sl st in next loop, * ch 2, sl st in next loop, repeat from * once, ch 2, sl st in end popcorn, ch 1, turn.

5th row:  Sl st in first loop, sl st in next loop, ch 3, popcorn st in same loop, * ch 2, popcorn st in next loop, repeat from * once, ch 3, turn.

NEXT 4 ROWS:  >Same as 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th rows of grapes for right hand panel.  Work 2 more bunches in same manner.  Applique grapes on the two solid sections (on each side) of back rest, small end of grapes down.  leaves to top of bunches.

STEMS (VINES):  With Green work 6 lengths of chains having each one long enough to applique in a wavy line between bunches of grapes.

TENDRILS:  With Green, ch 18, cut thread. Applique tendrils to middle bunches near leaves.

PANSY:  With Tinted Lavender and Yellow, ch 7, join to form a ring, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 2 dc in ring, * ch 7, 3 dc in same sp, repeat from * three times, ch 7, join.

2nd row:  Sl st to next loop, ch 3, 9 dc in same sp, * sc in center dc of next dc group, 10 dc in next loop, repeat from * once, sc in center dc of next dc group, ch 4 and work 7 dtrc, 2 trc into dc with ch 1 between each st in next loop, sc in center dc of next dc group, 2 dc, 2 trc, 7dtrc, with ch 1 between each st in next loop, ch 4, sc in center dc of next dc group.

NEXT ROW:  * Ch 3, sc in next st, repeat from * 32 times, ch 3, sc in next ch 4 loop, * ch 3, sc in next ch 1 loop, repeat from * 19 times, ch 3, sc in next ch 4 loop, ch 3, join in next sc, cut thread.

Work 5 more pansies in same manner.  Applique pansies evenly on both solid sections of back rest. LEAF FOR PANSIES:  With Green ch 11, sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 hdc in next st of ch (hdc; thread over hook, insert in st, pull loop through, thread over and work off all loops at once), 1 dc in each of the next 6 sts of ch, hdc in next st, sc in next st, working on opposite side of chain, * 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 sc, ch 4, 1 sc in next st, repeat from * once, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts, 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc in top of next st, 1 sc in next st, 1 sc, ch 4, 1 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts, 1 sc, ch 4, 1 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts, join in next st, cut thread.

Work 11 more leaves in same manner.

STEMS:  Work same as stems for grapes.  Applique stems in a wavy line between pansies.  Applique 2 leaves between first and second and second and third pansies and one above first pansy and below last pansy on each side of back rest.
