More than you needed to know...

This is where I go off about myself...the egotistical section, if you will. A bit of an autobiography of sorts, I guess -- not like it's all that interesting, which is why I don't devote my entire page to myself. Anyway, here goes...

My school of choice is Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. ...Actually, it's not really my school of choice (blasphemy!), but I go here since, back in '94 when I was a High School Senior, the two music schools to which I applied, The New England Conservatory of Music and Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, both rejected me. I was so traumatized, I didn't know what to do. So, my High School Choir Director, Tamara Beall (whom I dearly love, whether she knows it or not), hooked me up with an app for BG, and gave me class time to fill it out and make audition arrangements. She said BGSU credits would transfer anywhere I wanted to go, and that it's a good school for Music Ed and all around. Which is good, since I ended up changing my major from Music Ed to Visual Communication Technology.

:-)

Next question: What is Visual Communication Technology? I had to teach my Mom to recite that title when anyone asks her my major, and it took a while, believe me. Visual Communication Technology, or VCT for short, involves applications such as printing, multimedia, and photography. My personal emphasis is web page design. That Mackie mixer to the right there? That's my baby. ...Well, no, not really, but I get to play with it. As of right now (and this may change soon), my minor is Recording Technology, and I'm currently taking Recording Techniques II, which basically consists of completing four group projects in recording. So far, we've had to do a 30-second radio commercial and a soloist DAT recording using the digital editing program, Sound Designer II. Later on, we have to record a small group (less than 8 tracks) using the Mackie Automation, and finally, a band with drums. Pretty fun, I think... but I might have to bail on the Rec Tech thing, unfortunately. I want to graduate before the year 2000 is out...
