TWA History
Time Line:
Founded in July of 1996 by four friends, Barry Borell , Larry Elliott, Jamie Hambach and Mike
Nash.
Winter of 1996 the TWA changed its style from WCW or WWF style to a more hardcore style like
ECW.
In the may of 1997 the TWA had its first crowd ever.
On april 25th 1997 the TWA presented its first public event Bash At the Crash 2 in front of 75
crazy fans at the TWA south arena. Main event featured a brutal 3 way that saw the Sandman
capture the World Title.
In May of 1997 the Franchise Grant George from the IWF promotion invaded the TWA.
On april 25th 1998 the TWA presented its second annual spring event Beat It 98 infront of over
150 spectators. The main event featured the Kung Fu Fever beating the FBI in a 25 minuete
classic.
In june of 1998 An Orgy of Violence set a record for most tables broken in one match (15), the
record still stands today.
In october of 1998 Fox 8 News out of Cleveland came down an taped a special that would air on
the following nights 10 oclock news. The show featured 3 unforgetable matches.
In early february Barry Borell was contacted by people from a company known as Backyard
Wrestling Inc, Borell was told that they wanted the TWA to be on a special tape that they would
be making.
On May 22nd 1999 the TWA had its 3rd annual spring show called Xtreme Behavior infront of 250
fans. This show is considered to be the best overal event in TWA history.
In the fall of 1999 the Best of Backyard Wrestling Vol 1 and Vol 2 are released. TWA wrestling
is featured all over the tape.
On Oprah a clip from TWA was shown. News stations all over the country do storys on the Best of
Backyard tapes. TWA is seen all over these segments.
On may 26 2000 the TWA had its forth annual spring show Disorderly Conduct infront of over 300
people. This show is by far the most brutal insane sick hardcore show in TWA history. Countless
injuries insue.
The Future: Right now the TWA is planning on running joint shows with the ETW
