John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gaveHis only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. "Hallelujah"
And now the rest
of the story Berneita Kanavel
If you have read the first part of my story,
You know what my life was like before "Jesus".
I promised I would tell you about my life after I found "Jesus".
Well here we go.
After I divorced my first husband, And for some time with my
mother. At first everything seemed to go real good living
with her. But things changed. I didn't realize it at first,
but I never had any money left out of my welfare check.
We argued about it, She said she needed to have a
little fun to. Then I found out she was using it to
play bingo.
Well, I met this man and started to date him. He wasn't a
Christian but I wasn't even thinking about Christianity yet.
We dated for a while and when my mother found out, she
called him one night and threatened to blow his brains out.
When I found out what she did, I packed my clothes and
moved in with him. She cried and begged me to come
back home. She said she couldn't make it without my check.
I'm sorry if you think I'm mean but I refused and stayed
with the man that I fell in love with.
This man was different, he wasn't a Christian, but he didn't
shoot me down. We talked, we played, we laughed, most of
all he made me feel like I was worth something
and he honnestly wanted to make me happy. "WOW"
I never had that before, he wanted to make me happy.
Needless to say I fell completely in love with
him. With in a few months we got married and I have
been with him for 15 years now and he still wants to make
me happy.
Well, to shorten a long story up a little, one night we got
into an arguement like all married people do sometimes.
He never liked arguements and got in his pickup truck and
went for a ride to keep from argueing. Most of what you
read now you might have already read in his testimony. I
thought he had left me and called his mother to see if
he was there. He wasn't, she said. Then she asked what was
wrong, so I began telling her because she was so easy to
talk to. She asked me if I wanted this marriage to work.
I told her yes and told her how much I loved him, I didn't
know and she didn't know that he had gone to her house and
was in the back yard with his brother talking to him about
the arguement.
This arguement happened in 1989! My husband just reminded
me that what I call a arguement, he calls a fight. Well
anyway, my mother-in-law was telling me if I wanted my
marriage to work, why not try "Jesus". Really I didn't know
what she was talking about. I had never been a Christian
and didn't know how. She asked me if I would be willing to
pray with her over the telephone. So we did, she had me
pray the sinners prayer with her. What I didn't know is
that at the same time, my husband was in the back yard
at her house at the picnic table giving his heart to
"Jesus". What an arguement that turned out to be.
Well, not only did I get my life along with my husband back
together with "Jesus" help. My mother-in-law got her greatest
wish. Her youngest son gave his heart to "Jesus". From
then on, I can't say everything has been easy, just a lot easier
to handle because now we had "Jesus" to help us. There has
been a lot of ups, but also a lot of downs and if it
hadn't been for that night we argued, who's to say where
we might be now. I thank God for all of His love that has
brought us through so much.
My prayers are, that all who read this that doesn't know "Jesus"
and has had a lot of these heartaches in there lives, may
come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Please, if you haven't already given your heart to "Jesus".
Please don't wait, do it now, you will be so glad you did.
