A huge bass has just inhaled your tiny torpedo. You set the hook and start to fight the fish. There is a sudden strong tug on the line then it goes slack. When you reel your line in you find that the rear treble hook has come off of your lure. Why?

The treble hooks are attached to the lure with split rings. Often the split rings are the weakest spot on the lure. When a large fish is fighting the split ring will give out resulting in a lost trophy. To prevent this try:
