Your lucky reel just happens to be an open-faced spinning reel that you have had forever. It is probably a "Mitchell 300" or a "Daiwa silver series" or a similar reel. Recently an annoying squeak rings out whenever you try to reel your line in. To stop the squeak simply apply a small amount of household oil to the reels handle grip. The majority of reel squeaks come from the plastic grip drying out where it comes in contact with the metal spindle on the handle. The lubricant prevents the friction that causes the squeak. You can also use petroleum jelly instead of the oil for a longer lasting fix.<- <- BACK
